Hi, I'm Seane Marie and I'm a fashion stylist. I'm here to let you in on a few little secrets on how to accessorize your favorite maxi dress. Maxi dresses or long dresses are a great versatile staple to a woman's wardrobe. From an afternoon barbecue with friends to an evening out on the town, a maxi dress can really take you from day to night. Now there are a couple of things to remember when styling your maxi. First one of the most striking features of the long dress is it's ability to bring the eye from the top of your body all the way to the floor. In doing so it visually adds length to even the most petite ladies. This means that we want to let the dress do the talking. Today, we've put Emma in a Sealux maxi dress with a Polynesian inspired print. The multi tone leaf pattern and the ruffle detail around the neckline make this maxi a perfect pick for the spring and summer months when outdoor events are abundant. Here we chose a delicate gold Abigail necklace by Liz James to accent but not over power the ruffle detail. As many maxi dresses are halter style or have other details around the bust we want to try and steer clear of adding too chunky of a necklace. Doing so brings too much attention to your neckline and lessens the lengthening effect of the maxi. Next we added a set of bangles and a cocktail ring that are in the similar color family to the dress and necklace, creating and all together cohesive look. As for footwear flat sandals or wedges always work best to balance the length of a maxi dress and complete the look.
