Cycle 13 Episode 7 The 411

The 411


Time for go sees! The episode begins with the girls going back to Wilhelmina Modeling Agency where they are greeted by the head of the agency, Sean Patterson, and 5’7” model Lauren Shiohama. Lauren explains that Los Angeles has lots of opportunities for models particularly petite models, and that in addition to meeting with designers the girls will be going to a world-renowned advertising agency so they can audition in front of their casting directors.  
Sean says that the girls will be split up into teams of two and will be given their own cars to drive. The teams are split up like this:  Jennifer and Erin, Brittany and Kara, Sundai and Rae, and Nicole and Laura.  Sean reminds them that they must make it back to Wilhelmina by 4:00 and not a minute after because there is nothing he can’t stand more than a late model. 
The race is on with five places to go to in four hours! Things could get tricky since they will only have a map of the city to rely on for directions. The teams do their best to avoid the L.A. traffic and are able to meet with Rozae Nichols, Trina Turk, jewelry designer Neil Lane, and ad agency Wong Doody.  Everyone except for Sundai and Rae are able to get back to Wilhelmina on time.  Sean expresses his disappointment and asks them to wait outside while the other girls hear the feedback from their go sees.  Since Nicole had the most bookings, she is the winner and gets a pair of diamond earrings from Neil Lane and a role in a nationally televised commercial.
The next day the girls arrive at a martial arts studio and are met there by Jay Manuel.  Jay says that some of the most elegant body language is inspired by martial arts and that for today’s photo shoot the girls will not only be using martial arts weapons as props but they will also be suspended in the air on a wire.  The photo shoot will have two parts, one on the ground and one up in the air.  Then the photos will be turned into a composite with three poses making one fluid action sequence.  After hair and makeup, each girl chooses a weapon to pose with and trains with a martial arts instructor to learn how to use it.  The shoot with photographer Patricia Von Ah proves to be difficult but the girls are able to make it work.  
At panel, model Jessica White joins Tyra, Nigel and Miss Jay as this week’s guest judge.  They decide that Nicole had the best photo of the week and put Sundai and Kara in the bottom two.  Kara is sent home because the judges felt that she was not invested in the competition.
