Cycle 13 Episode 6 The 411
Epidose 6 - The 411
This episode is all about movement. At the start of the episode, the girls are met by Top Model movement expert Benny Ninja and rapper Lil Mama. Benny talks about how dancing can help you be a better model and Lil Mama explains that you can’t always rely on your face and brings out the hip hop dance crew Jabbawockeez to show the girls how to use their bodies to convey different emotions: happiness, sadness and anger.
They are told that for their challenge they will be put in groups of three and will choreograph their own routines. Just like the Jabbawockeez they’ll be in masks so it’s all about the body movements. After the groups perform they are judged by Benny and Lil Mama. The winners are Jennifer, Rae and Kara! They win an awesome prize— $17,000 in Rhonda Faber Green jewelry! Nice.
Next the girls are surprised with a trip to Vegas! They arrive at Treasure Island and are taken to the stage of Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere. They enter the whimisical world of Mystere and are told by Jay Manuel (in amazing Cirque wardrobe and makeup) that they will be given just as amazing hair, makeup and wardrobe for this week’s shoot and will pose in groups of three alongside performers from the show. He explains that Tyra is a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil and wants the girls to experience a different environment where they can push their boundaries as models.
The photographer for this week is Mike Rosenthal, who is no stranger to Top Model and is famous for his editorials. The girls have a truly magical shoot and head back to LA for panel.
Model Josie Maran joins the panel this week as the guest judge. The judging this week is a little different as Tyra explains that they will be picking the best GROUP photo instead of one individual model’s best shot. The three girls that impress the judges most are Brittany, Rae and Jennifer. Kara and Ashley end up in the bottom 2, but Ashley is sent home since her dance background worked against her instead of for her.
