Cycle 13 Episode 11 The 411
The 411

This week is all about hula! The final four girls arrive at a beautiful beach where they happen upon hula dancers performing, but these aren’t regular hula dancers, they’re hip hop hula dancers!
The dance instructor, Anna-Rita Sloss, explains that what they’re doing is a new interpretation of the traditional Hawaiian dance, and just like Tyra has been telling them, to be a Top Model it is crucial to tell a story with your body. The girls are taught hula hip hop choreography by Anna-Rita and her crew and are told that for this challenge they will be performing the routine and will each have a solo in the middle where they will tell their own story using traditional hula moves.
Performance time! Miss Jay and Anna-Rita greet the girls who are told they’ll each be performing individually with the crew of dancers. The girl who wins the challenge will get to come back to Maui with one of the other girls for a 5-day all expense paid trip and stay at the Four Seasons. This is the biggest challenge prize yet so all the girls really want it. Because she did the best, Laura is named the winner and picks Jen to join her for her return to Hawaii!
For their last photo shoot before the finale, the girls meet up with Jay Manuel on the beach who tells them they will be styled to look like Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes, who was known not only for her beauty but also for her fiery temper. They will be posing on volcanic rock with the sea and waves crashing behind them so timing is everything to get the most dynamic shot. Then, Jay tells the girls that there is more riding on this photo shoot than any other so far since not one but two girls will be going home after this week’s judging. The girls are shocked by the news and know they really have to step it up if they want to make it to the end. The girls are introduced to their photographer, Steve Shaw, who has done editorials for Esquire, Vogue and Marie Claire. One by one, each girl tries to outdo the other to secure their spot in the competition.
Joining Tyra, Nigel Barker and Miss Jay at panel this week is Ann Shoket, editor-in-chief of Seventeen Magazine. This is the most dramatic elimination in Top Model history since they’ve never gone from four girls down to two and it’s a tough decision for the judges but they ultimately send Erin and Jen home, which means that Laura and Nicole will be battling it out to be America’s Next Top Model.
