Cycle 13 Episode 10 The 411

The 411


This week’s episode is all about the ocean and that’s where the first challenge takes place.  The girls are met on the beach by supermodel Marisa Miller, who has been in Italian and American Vogue and is also a Victoria’s Secret Angel…and she’s only 5’8”!
Marisa explains that she’ll be teaching them how to be hot but not over the top.  She asks the girls to get into their bikinis so that she can show them how to best model swimwear.  She gives great tips and even has them jump in the ocean and then roll around in the sand so that they can learn how to pose while in the shower.  The goal is to be sexy but not sleazy.  Next, the girls climb up to a cliff and are surprised when Nigel shows up to tell them about their photo shoot challenge.  He tells the girls that they will be jumping from the cliff into the ocean below and will have one chance to give their best sexy/graceful pose – one jump, one picture.  The girls are scared but they give their all and take the plunge.  Nigel and Marisa announce that Nicole is the winner and will get a $5,000 chocolate pearl necklace and more frames on her next photo shoot.  Nigel also explains that starting with Nicole, each girl gets to pick a friend that will get extra frames until there is one girl left who does not get more frames.  Erin is the last girl standing and is not very happy that she is the one girl who won’t get more chances in tomorrow’s shoot.   
The next day the girls meet up with Jay Manuel who is standing in front of a large yacht.  He explains that for this week’s photo shoot they will be taken out to sea and photographed by world-renowned fashion photographer Russell James.  Russell shows up in scuba gear and the girls are told that they will actually be modeling underwater.  The way the photo shoot works is this:  each girl will go underwater to take their first round of pictures (there is a regulator for air close by, but it will not be shown in the photos).  Then, Jay will look at the photos taken thus far and give the girls advice for their second round.  Every girl gets a second round except for Erin.  Modeling underwater is definitely a new experience for everyone but they all do the best they can in these extreme circumstances.    
At panel Marisa Miller joins Tyra, Nigel and Miss Jay for judging.  Together, they decide that Jennifer had the best photo and put Sundai and Erin in the bottom two.  Ultimately, they send Sundai home because she had too many excuses during the challenging photo shoot.
