Check My Desk: What I Use to Transform From CEO to Straight-A Student

My mind’s always racing and I’m always brainstorming, trying to create new things for you, my fam! I just can’t sit still – from Modelland touring to typeF blogging, and let’s not forget Cycle 18 of America’s Next Top Model airs on February 29th! And of course, I’m juggling the business world with my CEO role and my studying at Har-vard Business School! I've left my comfy home and am back hitting the books (and sleeping dorm-style) for the third year in a row up in Boston.

Needless to say, I've learned a few tricks to stay organized and sane while I'm working for those As. What keeps me focused is keeping a fierce desk! How about a little sneaky-peek of my desk to tell the whole story?

My favorite pen and plenty of note pads: I'm a digital girl (what up, Twitter!), but I don't live in an entirely digital world. You could even call me a bit of a scribbler. I always keep a stash of my favorite kind of pens and note pads on hand so that I can write down or sketch out my ideas. And did you know, writing something by hand actually helps you remember! You never know when that random thought’s gonna come in hand – the idea for Modelland came from an idea I scribbled on a random piece of paper!

Computer: A yellow case is a must, of course!

Photo of my mama and I: No matter if I’m near or far from my dear mama, I always have a picture of the two of us! She’s always kept me grounded and pushed me to be the best I can be. One peek is a nice reminder to think of the bigger picture, to stay laser focused, and to make her proud!

Big ‘ole bottle of water: There’s nothing more important than making sure you drink plenty of H20 for beauty H2T (head to toe!) And even though you’re stressed, with late nights that go on and on and on, those glasses of water will keep away pimples!

Inspiration board:  Get motivated by looking at empowering, beautiful, and meaningful images. I cover my corkboard with museum postcards, amazing spreads from Italian Vogue--anything I love that might get my creative juices flowing, even if it doesn't have a direct impact on the project at hand.

My digicam: Skyping with my fierce Bankable Enterprises team puts me in touch with our work back in New York--I can keep up with my businesses and have instant brainstorm sessions with a bunch of smart folks. And, you know me, sometimes I'll take and Tweet a silly photo or two!
