Hi I'm fashion stylist and typeF expert, Lilliana Vazquez. Now if you've never been to a sporting event, how are you supposed to know what to wear? Never mind, look stylish and like you're part of the home crowd. The first thing to understand is that sporting events are fun and casual. The fashion here is based on functionality, team pride, wearing crazy outfits of team colors and surviving the elements. Sporting events can have a wide range of weather situations that you need to dress for. So you should ask game vets what kind of weather to prepare for. If you need to stay warm, layer up with thermals or extra tops or just scream until you're heated up. Sports fans are passionate about their team so keep track of what colors the home team is wearing so you know who to root for. So let's talk about what we're going to wear. As I said earlier, casual and functional is the best place to start, so things like jeans, cords, or even shorts if it's warm enough all work for a sporting event. You also want to find and wear styles that compliment your body and that are comfortable. Jeans are also an easy option for any game. You can tuck skinny jeans or cords into boots for a cute and casual look at a Fall game, or pair straight leg jeans with sneakers for a sporty look and if you want to dress up a little more, add flats and a cardigan to your jeans to pull off a more collegiate look. Feel free to war bright colors that can add a stylish pop to your outfit and you'll score major bonus points by matching the home team's colors. Just remember to look for jeans or cords that work for your body type and help slim you down while still making you feel stylish and sporty. When it comes to tops, something as simple as a T shirt works if it's warm but you can step up your style with a cute button down. You can even try to find one in your team's colors for some serious brownie points. For a truly game changing look, pick up a team jersey in a ladie's size or tie a knot in the back of a men's size. Trust us, fans will love it. Now let's talk about what shoes to wear. Stadiums have steep concrete steps and big parking lots so you'll want to stay away from high heels and anything you can't walk in. As I said before, the weather can be very different depending on the event. If it's an outdoor event, bring a hat, scarf and gloves. Bundling up is part of the fun and no true fan will leave the game early just because it's cold out. So if you're heading out to a sporting event remember to show off your style and support in the team colors. Try to fit together a fashionable yet functional outfit that you can be comfortable in and most of all, join in and have fun.
