In the typeF Survival Guide Series, we look at different scenarios that you may encounter and provide you with solutions to face these challenging fashion and beauty situations. Hi I'm stylist and typeF expert, Lilliana Vazquez. You may be heading out for a leisurely trip with the girls or maybe it's Vegas. Regardless of where you go, wind, tiny mirrors and weather will constantly try and ruin your look and your good time. You always want to feel relaxed, confident and carefree so let go of any expectations and give in to the true spirit of the adventure. Your look should be comfortable and versatile. You may be in the car for hours and you want a look that is low maintenance and a style that keeps you looking fresh. For any type of hair you'll need bobby pins, a headband, hair ties, clips and a hat. You don't want anything that requires too many hair tools or too many products. Think simple. Long heavy hair especially down is hot. While it may not matter in the Winter, during the Summer you may want to think of an up or pulled back style that can easily transition into an evening look. One option is the messy topknot. It works great on all types of medium to long hair. Lightly mist your hair with water or an antifrizz spray, gather your hair and twist onto the top of your head. Fasten with bobby pins or hair tie. Once you reach your destination for the day, simply unravel your bun, run your fingers through your hair and voil?, effortless, sexy waves. Just choose the style that works best for your personality. Now if your hair is curly and you're worried about any humidity, try putting in a leave-in conditioner before you head out. Comb through damp hair with a wide tooth comb, scrunch hair to add volume, let your hair air dry and then touch up with a serum to control any frizz or flyaways. If you have short hair, headbands can be a great accessory. They're also an easy way to keep your hair out of your face while still looking stylish. Remember that you may be driving for a while so be sure to choose a headband that works for your hair type and won't give you a headache. Stretchy fabric headbands work best on thick or wavy hair. Headbands with tiny teeth hold fine or naturally straight hair. You can still wear a headband even if you have shorter hair. Just remember to apply an antifrizz serum before styling. Then when you get to your destination, just let down your hair naturally. Next, hold on to your hat because on the road, hats are one comfortable travel accessory that could be the best thing for your style and if you haven't washed your hair in a few days, a hat can hide that in just mere seconds. Plus, it can be used to warm your head in the Winter or cool you off in the Summer. So as the lure of the road beckons, drive, explore and stay fashionable with a natural hairstyle that will make you feel and look as free as a bird. Thanks for joining us.
