In the typeF Survival Guide Series we look at different scenarios that you may encounter and provide you with solutions to face these challenging fashion and beauty situations. Hi I'm stylist and typeF expert, Lilliana Vazquez. There's nothing more exhilarating than a map and the open road but a lot of factors go into having fun and an exciting adventure. Unexpected events and different weather conditions can easily make or break your trip. So you want to plan accordingly. For a warm weather journey, stay comfy and cool by sticking to light cotton fabrics that are loose fitting and comfortable. Remember, you're going to be in a car for long periods of time so comfort should be your number one priority and a good thing to bring with you on the road during hot Summer months are shorts. They're perfect for getting a leg up on a stylish look but knowing which cut is best for your shape, could be the difference between a comfortable trip and a not so one. For fuller thighs, slim cut Bermudas with a low waist will help thin out your silhouette. Petites can rock short shorts that help play up your legs and make them appear longer, while a mid length style is ideal for girls with longer legs. It helps you show the right amount of skin. Another option is a long skirt made up of light fabric such as cotton, linen or silk. This Boho chic style travels well and can be versatile to go from day to cooler nights. Pair it with a button down if you're top heavy while a fun tank can work on smaller frames. Cool weather road trips call for a different approach but regardless of the temperature, the style is still all about comfort and ease. A worn-in pair of super comfy Chinos or cords is a must. A looser fitting denim will also help in the comfort department. Try a boyfriend style or a straight leg. For thin, taller, petite gals try a slim cut style. If you have more of a pear shape, slim those luscious curves with a low rise flare or trouser style jean and try to avoid anything overly tapered. Plus size women should stick with straight leg or trouser styles in a darker rinse denim that help slim you down. Match it with a lightweight pullover or a jacket to create a totally thrown on but polished look. You can also explore layering combinations too. Throw in a light jacket and a scarf. If it gets too warm, you can always shed the outer layers to cool off. When it comes to accessories for a road trip, less is always more because if things get too bulky, you can become uncomfortable during the drive. A simple earring and maybe a ring is just about all you need. For your handbag, think about style and functionality. Your best bet is a satchel or maybe a stylish tote that can not only hold your essentials but also your magazines and books. Now, it's on to footwear. Who wants to wear shoes for three hours while sitting in the car, especially uncomfortable ones? A slip on shoe such as a Converse style sneaker or a loafer is ideal. You can also try a pair of sandals. For a little more of a dressed up look, opt for a stylish flat. Remember girls, it's not the destination, it's the journey. So make sure you stay stylish and comfortable along the way. Thanks for joining us. I'll see you on another episode of typeF Survival Guide. Show More Show Less
