Hi I'm Fashion stylist and typeF expert, Lilliana Vazquez. So you're planning a night out with your besties, but what are you going to do about your hair? You want a new style, something to break you out of your normal look that still looks and feels like you. At the same time you want it to look fabulous while you dance but you want something that doesn't need a lot of maintenance. So what are your options? When you think of your style, envision soft curls, classy undone updos and even a top bun. They're fun and flirty if you get the right look for your face shape. Not sure of your face shape? Well visit typeF.com's Just For You Module. Now here's what you're going to need, bobby pins, hairspray, hair serum, a wide tooth comb and hair ties. The key to good hair is to find the styles that best suit your personality. Also, keep in mind your outfit for the evening and find a style that complements your look. Think about your dress then go for your hairstyle. For sexy, soft, uneven curls blow dry your hair as normal. Take a few sections on either side of your head, and spritz with a setting spray. Twist each section until they double onto themselves and bobby pin them in place to dry. Once they're dry unpin the sections, finger comb the twist to loosen them up. Apply hairspray and presto, soft curls that are fashionable and easy to manage. Another stylish option for medium to long hair is a tousled look with lots of texture. Style into your favorite hair down look. Once you're done, flip your head over and shape it out. Apply a texturizing product like a paste or a gel, shake your hair again and scrunch it together. Flip your hair back over, finger comb it to tame it a little bit and voila!, a sexy tousled look that will look better the more you dance. If you want your hair up to highlight your neck and shoulders, opt for a sexy updo which is all the rage right now and equally as sexy as a flowy style. You need to wash your hair with a volume enhancing shampoo and conditioner. Blow dry hair then grabbing a random section of hair, pull the hair up to the crown and pin in place. Follow the same process around your entire head, loosen up in a few places to make it look natural and that's it, a simple sexy updo. Another option is the top bun. The top bun is super popular because it allows for dancing without getting your hair messed up or in your face. To create the top bun, after showering, comb your entire head with a large wide tooth comb, but, unlike a ponytail, you want to gather your hair at the top of your head instead of the back and make sure to comb the back thoroughly as well. Once you're done combing, twist or braid the hair in the ponytail so it comes together. Wrap it around the hair tie and apply hair serum to smooth out the hair and add shine, voila, the sexy and functional top bun.
