TypeF.com is here to help you look and feel your best in some not so familiar situations. In the typeF Survival Guide Series, we look at different scenarios that you may encounter and provide you with solutions to face these challenging fashion and beauty situations. Hi I'm fashion stylist and typeF expert, Lilliana Vazquez. It's time to take our different lengths, shapes, textures and styles and throw away the amenities. Camping is a different kind of trip. You can't fit all your hair products in your backpack and you're not sure when an actual shower might occur. So let's think outside the hair essentials and focus on the simple natural styles that work with your hair. Here's what you're going to need, dry shampoo, hair bands, bobby pins or berets, a scarf, a headband or even a hair wrap. It's the woods and that means bugs. Bugs that really like strong scented hair products and you're not going to be feeling so great with flies swarming around your head. So you need to tone down the products. Stay away from heavy conditioners, gels and most of your finishing hair products. Pair down to just the essentials. Dry shampoos are great for refreshing your hair, for hiding oily roots and for injecting major volume. They come in a spray or a powder. I prefer the spray kind because you don't have to worry about the powder potentially spilling in your backpack. And, in an emergency, baby powder is also a great option if you don't have dry shampoo on hand. And don't forget about the option of putting your hair into a headband, hair wrap or scarf to hide oily roots. For a hair wrap or a scarf, fold the scarf into one long strip, pull your hair back like you're making a ponytail, place the scarf at the top of your forehead, and tie a knot under your hair. Make it tidy and you're good to go. Now let's think about hairstyles. While you're being free and active, feel free to let your hair go natural and the good news is, textured hair is in this season. If you have short hair, going natural can be fun and long hair falling down on your shoulders can look great but it takes a lot of effort to keep it from looking wild and tangled and that's why putting your hair up is another great option for camping. One style that is cute, functional and keeps your hair perfectly manageable is braids. There's the French braid, the double braid, pigtails and the mini braids. So find a style that works for your face shape and your personality. If you're unsure what face shape you have and what style is best suited for your face, there's a typeF's just for you module to find your shape and personalize your look. The goal is to keep your hair away from your face so you can stay cool, stylish and worry free. No matter how far out of your element you may feel, a natural look and hairstyle keeps you feeling great and enjoying your time away from your daily routine. Less is more ladies and camping is fun if you just let go for a few days. So enjoy the trip, feel good about yourself and embrace the freedom of natural beauty. It really is pretty great. I'm Lilliana Vazquez and I'll see you on another episode of typeF Survival Guide. Show More Show Less
