In the typeF Survival Guide Series we look at different scenarios that you may encounter and provide you with solutions to face these challenging fashion and beauty situations. Hi I'm Lilliana Vazquez and today we're delving into the nitty gritty when it comes to camping. Call it the golden rules of packing for your next trip into the wild. Camping puts us in a unique position of having to actually carry everything you pack on your back. So if you don't wear it on the trip, you don't want to carry it. We also have drastically different weather conditions to plan for. What you wear hiking during the day won't necessarily keep you warm at night so you have to be ready for all the adventures ahead while looking cute and stylish. Let's start by looking at the list of things you need to bring along, shoes and socks, pants, shorts, tops, jackets, vests, accessories and a backpack. The first thing you need to consider are your feet, a good pair of broken in walking shoes or hiking boots and good socks are a must. You'll need to keep moving over all kinds of terrain so if your feet hurt or you have bad shoes, you're not going to survive, no matter how good they look. A pair of flip flops is also great for relaxing around the fire and since they take up minimal space they pack nicely into a backpack. If you have the space, Ugg boots are good for comforting your tired soles post hike and they also happen to look really cute too. When it comes to outerwear, cotton may be comfortable and soft but it's not our first choice. Try to focus on synthetic materials that wick away moisture, dry quickly and keep you warm as well. A few other camping essentials that have to go in your backpack, a warm hat, gloves, and a scarf. You just never know how cold it may get and since all three items are pretty small, they can easily fit in your pack. And since you'll be outdoors for the next few days, embrace these cold weather accessories. There's something fun and campy about donning this winter wear and remember, grumpy and cold is never cute. Now let's move on to tops, keep them as low maintenance as possible, this means no silks that can easily get dirty or loose knits that can snag on your hike. The layered look is also fashionable and functional for your camping trip. Start your look with a simple tanker tee, then add a cute button down in plaid or flannel. These are campsite staples. They're warm, versatile and you can wear them open over a T shirt, tied at the bottom for a cute cowgirl look or tied around your waist for a more grunge inspired look. Jeans are rugged and they protect you from the elements all while looking fabulous. Opt for a skinny style that can easily tuck into your boots for an outdoor chic look. If you are petite, skinny jeans and a button down is a perfect look for a camping trip but try a half tuck with your shirt to help show off your waist. Style wise make sure you pick pants that both fit your shape and flatter your overall style. The last thing to fit in your backpack is PJs or thermals. Pajamas are worth packing and they can pull double duty as thermals during the day. Look for printed long johns in cute patterns like flowers to go along with the setting. And there you have it, easy outfit ideas that are both functional and fashionable for your next camping trip. Remember, the key to a well packed bag is to pack smart and in layers, everything you pack should be versatile and easy to mix and match. There's nothing wrong with wearing each piece a few times over the weekend. After all, it's camping. I'm Lilliana Vazquez and I'll see you on another episode of typeF Survival Guide.
