Hi, I'm Jennifer Chan for Typef.com and welcome to this edition of Style on the Street, New York. Today we're in Brooklyn, a neighboring borough to Manhattan and a hot up and coming area, bursting with diversity. It's not everyday we see a floor length crochet lace jacket. We had to stop this woman and learn more. What's your name? Saba Gray. And where do you live? I live in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. And tell me about your personal style. My personal style, it varies a lot. I love traditional, not traditional, classy clothes, from like the 50s and the 40s. I have a very Audrey Hepburn look and then at the same time I like, like today I like to dress a little edgier when I'm feeling a little dark and angry, like me and my roommate got into a big fight last night so I'm like, eh, I'm going to wear black. But yeah, I love long things. I love long capes and lace things. I say my favorite thing this season is long capes that drag in the floor like a superhero. Awesome, so something very dramatic. Yes. Okay, now walk me through your outfit. Where did you get everything from head to toe. This I got about two years ago from Beacon's Closet. It's like 13 bucks and then this my friend gave me. I'm not sure where she got it, it's just a hand me down. And then these are American Apparel leggings. These are boots from a thrift store in my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky and they were like four bucks, so. And what about your jewelry? This is also from the thrift store in what's called Unique and then this is from Salvation Army across the street. This is from Madrid. This is from Madrid. This is from Madrid. Wow, so you're quite the traveler and the bargain shopper, I take it. What are your favorite stores in the area, here in Williamsburg? Moll and Landau which is right on North Sixth, around the corner. I'm an intern there but every time I go in there, I'm like uh, give it to me, everything, but that one and Beacon's Closet because you get such outrageous clothes there for not an outrageous price, amazing. And what's your favorite item in your closet, your go to must have piece? Um, I have this cape, it's a tank top and it's black and it's got white floral patterns all over it but from afar it looks like off white polka dots and it's really long and you can button it and wear it just like a really long dress or wear a belt around it with like this dress underneath it or something and when you walk it like billows out and it's just like empowering. I love wearing it. That sounds amazing. Now tell me your trick for flattering your figure. Well I'm really bottom heavy, I'm like a pear shape I guess so I try to wear things that are like empire waist dresses so it just sort of highlights my smaller features up top and then goes out below so it's like not as tight. Good tip. Now describe your style in three words. Original, outrageous at times and classic. Okay, thank you so much. Thank you. Thanks so much for joining me with this edition of Style on the Street, New York. Be sure to check back for more seasons and more cities on Typef.com.
