Hi, I'm Jennifer Chan for Typef.com and welcome to this edition of Style on the Street, New York. Today we're in Soho, home to world class restaurants, galleries and arguably the best shopping in the city. From mainstream stores to popular clothing boutiques to handmade jewelry stands along the sidewalk, there is no shortage of retail therapy at every corner. Not everyone can pull off bright pants but this adorable woman clearly had a ton of confidence and carried them well. We stopped her on the street to learn more. What's your name? Sarah Johnson. And where do you live? East Village. And describe your personal style. My personal style is quirky and fun and a little bit girly. Perfect, now walk us through your outfit. Where did you get everything from? So, the shirt I got at Urban Outfitters. I got it on their sale rack which I love. And also the tank top, it's just a white tank top from J. Crew and my pants are from J. Crew as well and then kind of my Summery wedges, I got them at DSW. Perfect, and what about your handbag? The handbag is Hayden Harnett and they used to have a really cute boutique in Noleta but they just recently closed so you have to go to Brooklyn to get it. Good to know. Okay I want to know what stores you love to shop at in Soho. Oh in Soho I love going to Kate Spade. I love going to Ted Baker, Top Shop is one of my ultimate hits as well as I like to go to H & M for some of those kind of classics in like a black shirt and some T shirts and stuff like that I go to H & M to get but yeah, those are my favorite. Awesome, well you sound like a pretty serious shopper. Tell me some tricks you have for flattering your figure. Well I like to get kind of like loose skirts and I like wearing a lot of thin material. Like if it's either a silky blouse or a chiffon skirt, like something that has some movement because I feel like when it's too clingy, sometimes it doesn't look that great on your shape but at least for me I like to wear kind of loose fitting and kind of flowy fabrics. Now do you have a secret style tip you can share with us? I think undergarments are really important. So like if you have a black shirt, you should wear a black undergarment. If you're wearing something white, you should wear something nude or like I think that's kind of a trick for people or like not to show their bra straps. I'm not really into that, but so, just like a tailored look I think is a sneak peek. So you like to keep it classy? Yes, yes. What's one item for Fall that you're completely obsessed with? I'm completely obsessed with leather boots, like tall, kind of the riding equestrian boots completely obsessed with them. Well they sound amazing. And describe your style in three words. In three words I would say I'm preppy, classic and flirty. Okay, thanks so much Sarah. Thanks for joining me with this edition of Style on the Street, New York.
