- Hi, I'm Carla Kay, Celebrity Manicurist. Today, I'm going to show you how to do white nail polish styles. So, I'm going to create kind of a twist French manicure with white nail polish in a silver glitter. So, the tools you're going to need today at home are going to be a silver glitter, a nail brush and a white; I'm using Blanc by Essie. So, I've already applied one coat of nail polish to Angela's nails. I gave it about a minute to dry. You actually want it to dry a little bit 'cause, to avoid streaking. And then, when you go to apply the second coat, it'll cover very smooth. It's important to apply the second coat after you allow the first one to dry 'cause then you'll avoid streaks in the nail polish and get more of an opaque look. Once you finishes your second coat, I'm just going to dip my brush in the glitter gently; then, I'm just going to lightly, kind of pat the top of her nails. I'm dipping my brush into remover just to get it a little moist to pick up my glitter. And I'm going to gently dip in the glitter and then just kind of tap it kind of quickly because your polish is going to dry quick and you want to be able to get that glitter on there. But, a trick if it does dry, you can actually add a little bit of top coat to get it back the little stickiness, to get that glitter to stick on there. And you can always go light or thick on your glitter depending on what you want; if you want chunky, just keep reapplying and dipping. Okay, so once you've finished the free edge with the glitter, you just want to go in and finish it off by one coat of top coat. I chose a silver glitter for my French manicure look here, but you can have fun and use a gold glitter or a pink, hot pink on the tips or blue glitter; I love the classic look of the white with the silver glitter tips. And that's a fun way to wear white nail styles; I'm Carla Kay, thanks for watching.
