- Hi I'm Caile Noble, celebrity hairstylist and today I'm going to show you how to use a hair dryer. So today we're going to be using Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity, Non-Aerosol Hairspray. It's a non-aerosol product so you're going to want to apply it when the hair is wet. So to go in, take your hair after it's been cleansed, once you've squeezed out the excess moisture of your hair, then you're going to go in with your hairspray and spritz it through. Sometimes you want to break the hair into sections just so you can give some even distribution of the product. Now you may ask why are we using a hairspray on the hair when it's wet. Unlike an aerosol hairspray, this hairspray is actually going to give you the texture from the beginning, giving your hair a little memory and hold. As you can see our model's hair is a bit of a wave so this is going to help fight against humidity after we've blown it dry. Once you have the product in the hair, now you're going to want to rough dry. You don't want to go right into blow drying with a brush. It's going to take too long so it's just like this, just go in and rough dry the hair. This will help you get all that excess moisture out of the hair so you really only use the brush to do the polishing. As you can see when you're rough drying your hair, you can do it like this but another great tip would be to flip your head over at home and rough dry it that way so you can also get a little root lift in the process. Now you're ready to go into the blow dry. So section off your hair from the top of your ear back and put it up just like so. Now I've just kind of wrapped it up into a bun to make it a little cleaner but as long as it's out of the way, you're in good shape. Now what you can do is you can take this section and split that into two. Taking one side, putting it over there, you have this side of your hair ready to blow dry. Now the reason I do it like this for you guys at home is so that you can easily get the underneath of your hair and follow it down in front of you and that way you have none of this other hair falling in the way interrupting your blow drying process. So to get started you're going to want to go in at the root and getting good tension by pulling it down nice and taunt, go in with your blow dryer and just at the root, move the blow dryer back and forth so you distribute the heat evenly. Once you go there, you'll then go underneath the hair and you'll actually follow the brush and the dryer simultaneously down the hair shaft and like I said at home, you may want to kind of go under and then follow it around that way so you would be like this and you can easily go down the hair shaft. One thing I want to stop and tell you guys as a little reminder, do not put the nozzle of this dryer directly on the hair. Keep the blow dryer at about an inch distance, pointed down the hair shaft when you're following the brush simultaneously. This is going to not only keep your hair from burning but it's also going to polish the hair as you go down closing the cuticle. As you may notice while I'm blow drying, a little thing I'm doing is wrapping the hair around the brush like so. It keeps it nice and taunt but yet gliding through the hair. This is something that you may want to practice because it will help give your hair the tension it needs while polishing at the same time. So if you need to put your blow dryer down, do so and go in with the hair and just kind of tuck it behind just like that and then if it gets a little caught up just roll your wrist and it will come right down. Now I'm going to show you the last tip about blow drying your hair. What you want to do is roll the brush through the hair like so, as you get down to the ends. What that does is it allows the hair to achieve a little bit of a bevel and polish it off just nicely. And there we go. We finished our blow dry. And that's how you use a blow dryer. I'm Caile Noble. Thank you for watching.
