Hi I'm Caile Noble, celebrity hairstylist and today I'm going to show you how to use a flatiron on fine hair. Now if you have fine hair like our model, Tracy, you can easily flatiron your hair however, sometimes it's best to use a product so that it doesn't leave your hair lifeless. We're using a Garnier Fructis XXL Volume Thickening Mousse. Once you have the mousse, go ahead and apply some into your hand and work it through. Once you do so apply it to the hair from the mids to the ends by picking up sections and just working it in. The one thing you need to remember is that when using mousse, we're applying it to dry hair, however, before you use the iron you need to make sure that her hair is dry. So in order to make sure the hair is dry you can always use a blow dryer just to speed up the process. Once the product is dried into the hair, just brush it out making sure there's no tangles. Once you've done so, section the hair off by using a tail comb and just taking the front and the back into two bits. As you can see here, we have the hair. It's always a little nicer to section the hair off, that way it doesn't get in your way when you're working and then go in taking horizontal sections. With the flatiron, be sure in order to give yourself a little bit of volume or lift, not leaving the hair too lifeless, you actually come out from the head, not down from the head. So do that and keep a nice consistent motion throughout the entirety of the stroke and there you find we have a nice flat ironed piece but a little bit of movement and life. Continue working up the head in a horizontal manner, getting your hair the straightness you desire. Also remember to bevel the hair just slightly at the ends so that it gives it a nice movement and more of a natural look. Now at the hairline, take a vertical section like so so that you can actually style the hair in a more fluid way. This way it doesn't leave the hair super stiff and straight and kind of stuck to your head and in order to do that just place your iron at the root and just go right back from the head. It gives it a nice sweeping effect. So we're going to continue on and we'll see you at the end. So just finishing off that last little end, as you can see, we've kept the hair looking nice and full but giving it a nice flat ironed look. I've slightly styled the front just going in a backward motion. You don't need to do that. You can choose your own preference, what you desire but do make sure you bevel those ends to give it a nice full reading and that's how you use a flatiron on fine hair. I'm Caile Noble. Thank you for watching.
