- Hit there, I'm skin care expert Tracy O'Connor, and today I'm going to show you how to use eye cream. Now what's interesting about the eye area is the skin around our eyes is ten times thinner than the skin on the rest of our face. And it is the thinnest skin on our body, so it's the first are to show the signs of fatigue aging. So that is wrinkles, fine lines, darkness, dark circles, even puffiness. And Eden is very young, so she doesn't have any of the signs of aging, but what's great about an eye cream is it can also be preventative. So we're going to start using the creamy eye treatment with avocado by Kiehl's. So you can see, the green from the avocado, which I love that this product is so natural. Just going to warm that between my fingertips, and just dab underneath the eyes. And you can see I'm not going too high, I'm just going right where the orbital bone is and no higher. And then I just tap the product in gently, making sure to get underneath the eye, and also on the sides of the eye where we can see crows-feet. Now you want to apply both AM and PM, and when you apply, you want to avoid pulling the eye area or tugging, because the eye area is very delicate, and we don't want to pull or tug because that can create wrinkles and sagging. I also like to apply a little bit of eye cream right here, in between the brow where we get the eleven marks. The skin here across the nose is also very thin, so it's a good idea to apply the eye cream there as well. You always apply an eye cream after you've cleansed, and prior to your moisturizer. I recommend applying prior to the moisturizer because sometimes a moisturizer has emollient ingredients. So once you put the moisturizer on, it might be difficult for the eye cream to penetrate through that moisturizer into the skin cells. Avocado oil is an incredibly nurturing and moisturizing ingredient. It has the highest amino acid profile of any natural ingredient that you could apply to the skin. I also love that this cream has shea butter, which is one of my favorite ingredients. It's an incredibly powerful humectant and emollient that locks moisture into the skin cells. And finally, because the under eye area shows signs of aging and fatigue so easily, be kind to your eyes. Always remove your eye makeup, and when you remove it, remove it with something gentle, not an alcohol-based cleanser, but something that is an oil-based cleanser. Be kind to your eyes, take care of your eyes, take your eye makeup off at night, wear sunglasses when you can to protect your eyes from the UV rays, and get a good nights rest. And that's how to use eye cream. I'm Tracy O'Connor, thanks for watching.
