- Hi, my name is Taylor Babaian. I'm a celebrity makeup artist, and today I'm going to give you unique eye makeup ideas. So one of my favorite looks is actually a glossy eyelid. You've seen it on the runway. You've seen it in the magazines but it's actually very wearable for an evening look. So I'm going to show you how to get that look today. All you need is a little concealer and a clear lip gloss. so we're going to start with a concealer and today I'm going to use L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer. So the reason that you actually want to start with a concealer is one, you just want to make sure that all of the veins or any discoloration that you have on your lids is no longer there. You just want a nice clear even lid. It's really going to show off that glossy eye. When you put gloss on an eyelid it really almost acts like a magnifying glass so you don't want to magnify any veins or any discoloration that you have in your eye. You want to make sure that it's nice and smooth and then you can use your concealer of choice whichever one you prefer. I'm using a little bit of a neutral yellow shade just so that it cancels out any of the redness. So if you have any eye makeup that you really want to do, so whether it's mascara or if you want to do a little liner, you want to put that on before you put on the lip gloss. So you're just going to choose a clear shade of lip gloss and you're going to take a concealer brush or a lip brush, whatever you prefer, something synthetic always works best. That way it doesn't absorb all the product and you're just going to tap it right on the lid just at the center and the reason that you're tapping on is because you do have that concealer underneath and you don't want it to move around. You're going to kind of create a shape almost like a half moon like you would in eye shadow except this is just gloss. So you can see it really does create that defined eye. It adds a little umph but without adding too much and it's actually very wearable. So the goal of this look is to create something a little edgy but it's still pretty. It's going to look really dewy and kind of fresh. It's great for Spring but actually it can be worn anytime of year, anything you want a little bit of edge and it's incredibly simple to do. So we finished both eyes and as you can see that clear gloss really does add a beautiful texture to the lids but you want that to be the focus so what I'm going to do is make sure that the skin is nice and satin and the lips are a little glossy right now so we're going to matte that down so that the focus is really on the eyes and you could use a nice neutral shade or if you want something really bold, a great bright color for the evening would be good as well. So again I love this look nice and clean, very simple. If you did want to add liner or mascara, you want to do that before you add the gloss. So gloss always goes last only because every time you're applying mascara, you're always going to be looking up or looking down and if you have gloss on the lid that mascara will get on the lid. So you definitely want to do all eye makeup before you put the gloss on the lid. So one of my favorite things that this look really does is really adds youthfulness and freshness to the face. So there you go, a great unique eye makeup idea. My name is Taylor Babaian. Thanks for watching.
