- Hi, I'm Louis Santalices, celebrity hairstylist. Today I'm going to show you how to do the wraparound method with a curling iron. Okay, so with this technique, it's going to create a nice loose beautiful texture. So to create this look at home, you're going to need some clips, tail comb, curling iron, and some products. And to create this look, I'm going to use Mega Spritz finishing spray by L'Oreal. So to begin, I want to section the hair. I'm going to take a section from the top of the head to behind the ear. And you just want to clip this away. And you really just want to have control of the hair the entire time. And then make another section in this area - this parietal area. And you want to begin on the bottom. You take about an inch section, take your curling iron... and a lot of people don't know how to use a curling iron, and that's okay. You can take the hair, and just leave it closed, and wrap the hair around the barrel. Maybe count to five. Pull it through. Take another section. Wrap the hair around the barrel, away from your face, and you create a nice pattern. You can see that this starts to take effect. Okay, so just continuing around the head, taking sections--vertical sections--wrapping the hair around the barrel, and holding it for about five seconds. And just letting it drop. If you at home have fine, limpy, lifeless hair, here's a tip: you want to take a good finishing spray and spray for memory before you use the curling iron. Take your section, wrap it around the barrel of the curling iron, and hold it for a minute. Okay, now that we've curled the entire head of hair, I want to take my tail comb and just - from the top to the bottom - start to pull out the curls to create more of a current look. I'm just pulling everything out. You can use your fingers. You can use a wide tooth comb. Just raking the comb and my fingers through has that beautiful tousled look. Now that we've pulled the hair through, I just want to finish it with some finishing spray so it lasts all day. And now you have beautiful, sexy, twisted curls. There we go.
