- Celebrity hairstylist David Dang showing you different ways you can use hair wax on a bob. So the myth is that you can only use hair wax on short hair such as male haircuts or shorter hair like pixie cuts. That's not true. If you have a bob like Anna here and she has a lot of layers as you can see, but you know what she doesn't know what to do. She probably might want a punker style. She might want some like piecey but she doesn't know what to do and gel is definitely not the way to go on this. You want something lighter, able to work with, pliable and again something that's not going to weigh your hair down too much but give you that nice piecey look. The hair wax that we're going to use today is the L'Oreal Paris Overworked Hair Putty. So to use this product, what we're going to be doing is we're only going to use a little bit. Again my theory of less is more. So we just use a little bit in the hand. Go ahead and put it throughout the hand. Again, less is more so we want to just put it all throughout the hand. And your hands already have natural oil on there, so you just want to use less and you go ahead and put it all over the hair. Kind of like that. I just came back from the wind look. Don't worry about it looking like a little weird but that's ok. Like she got electrocuted. Because you want to start out really really big and then from there, just work it. Work it. Zhush it out. Give it that nice feel. You know we want that body in there because she's lacking body and that's what she wants. That's why some people would look for a texturizing gel or a texturizing clay. Something to give it body, movement, showing off the layers and so you want to give it that look and then to help it out further, just a little bit further, we're just going to use our our Elnet. Go all around it. Because we're starting so big, the hair will come down because gravity will force it down. So we want to start big so that she can run out of the house after getting some coffee or making some coffee and it just looking all nice. Not so much disheveled but in a nice A game kind of way.
