- Hi. I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you some tricks to get the best lashes. So, to get the perfect lashes that will intensify and put the emphasis on your eyes, remember these three steps: you want to curl, use a mascara primer and find a lengthening mascara. The mascara primer that I'm going to use is Cils Booster by Lancome. So, I'm going to begin with curling her lashes, you want to do two clamps at about two seconds each, moving up the lash so you get a great curl, get the other eye. And, if you notice that you have broken lashes, particularly at the ends, oftentimes, that's because you need to replace the pads in your eyelash curler, at least every three months. That really opens up and drives you into the eye. And now, our next step is mascara primer. This is the best way to add real length to your lashes. I am going to coat the lashes with the mascara primer, which helps the mascara to glide on more smoothly and last throughout the day better and also really aids in the lengthening of the mascara. Primer adds fiber to the lashes, which is a critical part of the lengthening process. Once you've applied the primer, give it 30 seconds before you apply mascara. I'm going to be using Definicils by Lancome. This is a lengthening mascara, it gives great length and emphasis to the eyes. You get a feathery effect with the lashes, it looks very natural. This will give you a beautiful, long, separated lash. I like to do two coats at least and, if I'd really like to intensify the look, I go in for a third coat. Don't be afraid to do that. You know, Definicils is really a makeup artist's staple in every kit because it gives you lash that is so lengthening and has no clumps. So, all it took were three simple steps to get a very effective flirty, feathery, lengthened lash effect. I used mascara, mascara primer and began with an eyelash curler.
