- Celebrity hairstylist David Dang here, showing you sexy summer updos. Alright, to achieve this look, what we're going to be using is our L'Oreal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray. So, what we're going to do is we're going to use the crown area sectioning right here in the middle, and then move it to the back. Remember, the power of three rule, section spray, section spray. You can either use this product on wet damp hair, or you can use it on dry hair. So, what we're going to do is we're going to section, we're going to spray a little bit, and just to give you a little bit of a speed up, we'll spray it. And already you can see the volume forming. Alright, we'll continue that here. So, now as we start to go, we're going to be sectioning our hair into twos. Section the front behind the ear. Once again, section the front behind the ear. And remember, sectioning is very important so that you get the distribution of the hair completely. Use your brush, and if the hair's a little sleek, and it's been washed that day, you really want to work with dirty hair. So you can also achieve this look by using just any sort of hairspray, just to give it some hold. Now, as you see, we have our back section already ready to go. What we're going to do is we're going to split the section into two. Okay? So now you have a quadrants. So you're going to use this hair tie to tie one side. It might look like Pippy Longstocking for a second, but don't worry. Remember, wiggle wiggle wiggle, get that volume up there. Doesn't have to be too neat, again it's summer solstice. So you want to look Boho. And then you repeat that on the other side. So once you've achieved the look in the back, just a little pigtails, use your rat tail comb, just raise it up. Get that lift back in there. Alright. Now, once you get the lift back in there, we'll go back ahead, we'll go back again later to fix it, but we'll work with the front now. So what we want to do is we want volume. Remember, in the summertime it gets really humid, so we want volume. Continue to use your hairspray, light though. Comb through. And what you want to do at this point is start to section a little bit with your comb. Section, and then tease it. Once again, section, and then tease it. So move it back over, perfect. Smooth it out for that smooth bang, but as you can see, she already has volume forming. Great. So as you can see, I teased both sides and now it's starting to shape her face. You want that volume. Remember, tease it until it stands up. You want it as high as possible because it's just going to come down from all that gravity. So now, go back to the back, and what we're going to do very easy. Remember, right over left, and form like two little buns. They can be messy buns, but just a little bit of a bun in there. And you repeat this step on this side. Once you roll your little buns up, that's what it's going to look like. Two buns in the back. This part is super super simple. And then you're almost done with your complete look. Take your sections in the front, singly, twist them around, and roll them in. It's okay that some of that stuff is loose there, it needs to be. It gives it like more of a romantic feel. You know, Kate Beckinsale likes to do this look a lot. So does Eva Longoria. And sometimes you can actually knot it like this and put it down there. So, once we start to do that, it should look like this. Romantic. Now, you can either leave the bangs down to accentuate, that's what I like, to accentuate that romantic look, or you can leave one side down, which a lot of celebrity styles really like to do. So you can either twist this back, just hide the pins, very Evangeline Lilly, and it still looks glamorous, and you're still on your "A" game. You don't know who you're going to run into. You know? And you don't definitely want to look like you did in high school. So, here it is. It's a summer, sleek, sexy and "A" game worthy. And I'm David Dang, celebrity hairstylist. We'll see you here back next time.
