- Hi I'm Jessica Liparoto, celebrity hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to style your short curly hair while growing it out. Some of the misconceptions with short curly hair is that you can't always pull it back but today I'm going to show you how to do a loose bun and tie it in the back. The look is very simple, all you're going to need is a few things, a brush, a comb, some bobby pins and some gel. The gel we're going to be using today is the L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Mega Gel. We're going to start off the look but using a little bit of gel and we're just going to run it mid shaft to ends and a little bit through the roots so it doesn't get too greasy. Now we're going to grab our brush and we're going to do some back combing throughout the crown, all the way to the nape of the neck. Anna here is growing out her bangs as well so we're going to go ahead and just tease those back to blend with the rest of the hair. Now that you've put a good foundation in there, we're going to very loosely, it's all about being messy, grab the side and we're going to twist it back and we're going to secure it with a large bobby pin. So it looks like that. We're going to do the same thing to the other side, secure it with a large bobby pin underneath all of the back comb. Now we're going to take the rest of it. I'm going to give it a little twist, then I'm going to start securing it with a couple large bobby pins and again, it's all about being messy.
