Hi, I'm Jenny Balding, professional hair stylist. Today I'm going to show you how to get a punk edge to your regular haircut. So to create this look, I'm going to work a little product with the hair dryer into the hair, and get a bit more of a disheveled look. Also, I'm going to pin a couple of pieces back and that way you're going to really see the layers through the hair cut, which will give it a really good edge. The spray is really important 'cause it's actually going to give you the look, and the product I'm going to use today is Wool Shake 8 by Redken. So I'm just using the texturizing spray into the roots, because that's where you really want to get the movement, and that's where you're going to be able to throw it around in different directions to really create that kind of off-beat asymmetric look. Make sure you use it from root's ends all over your head. Do not be conservative when you're spraying, because this is where you really really want to get the texture through right. Because you really want it to look like lived in, because by no means is a punk look going to look like it's perfect. You can see already it just gives it so much more of a lived in look. This is going to give you a really good base to what you can sculpt, and exactly how you want to create the look at the front. You can spray it right into your hands also, and then you can really pinpoint some areas, which is important to get some separation. So even though I love the texture, the kind of punk-edge texture that we've gotten here, I think it would look really good to just pin a couple of pieces back so it give a bit more of an asymmetric edge. So to do that, just grab a couple of the extra long pieces, what you can do is just slightly twist, and pin. And then just pull some of the layers out over the top. So you can see just at the back there, I just pinned up these couple of pieces at the back because I wanted to take it from a traditional bob into something a bit more edgy, with a bit more asymmetric. Bring it round, and from the front it's just taken it from something just very straight forward into definitely more of a punk edge. Okay, so now the back's secured, what I'm going to do is define the front a little bit more by just by using the dryer. Just to kind of get some air into there to let it move around. So this is a finished look. I think you've got a really good lived in, disheveled texture to it, that's the most important thing. There's no right or wrong. It's meant to have a punk edge. So look at your face shape, go with it and just have fun is the most important thing. And there you go. That is how you get a punk edge to your hairstyle. I'm Jenny Balding, and thank you for watching.
