- Hi I'm Louis Santelices, celebrity hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to style layered hair. A quick easy way to style layered hair instead of using curling irons is using a hot rollers. It's a quick easy way and it's really effective and beautiful. The great thing about hair roller is that it's something you can pop in and then you can go back to. You leave them in for about 15 to 20 minutes and you have something that's beautiful and easy and the product that I'll be using today is L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Melting Gel and to get started we want to go ahead and section the hair so you don't get overwhelmed by too much hair. So I like to take a section from just, from behind the ear. So from the top of the head from ear to ear. Go ahead and section that out and then from about the middle of your head you want to go ahead and section that out so you have four sections, one, two, three, four. You just want to just clip everything away so it just makes it easier for you and then you kind of know what direction you're going. So to begin I'm going to start at the crown of the head and work my way down. Because she has bangs, I'm going to go ahead and just leave that out, I'm not going to touch it. I'm going to take a section of the hair on top of the crown, comb everything up and it might be a little bit difficult, if you have layers, just do your best to try to roll everything into the rollers as best as possible. Over directing is going to allow you, when you roll it, to have your roller directly on top of that section so you can achieve maximum volume. So I'm just going to take a section of the hair, wrap it around. As you can see there's a little bit of piece there sticking out from the layers, just do your best, just to roll it and you can take your tail comb and as you're rolling down, tucking in those pieces. So I just, see how I just took the tail comb and wrapped it around. And you might need to take several clips to secure the roller, just like that and I'm going to continue to work down, taking another section. You want to take your sections as big as your roller. You don't want to grab too little or too much. And as you can see as I roll it down the roller is right on top of the section because I over directed the hair giving us maximum volume. So I'm just going to continue doing this and then we'll come back and and you'll see how everything looks. Okay so as you can see I placed all the rollers on the side and in through the back and you're going to want to go ahead and leave those in for about 15 to 20 minutes. This is the great thing that you can just put them up, get ready, have a cup of coffee, talk on the phone and then when you let these out you'll have beautiful hair. So, I've already let this sit in for about 15 to 20 minutes and I'm going to go ahead and remove them. Now that we've removed our last roller, I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to comb through her hair and as you can see we have some really nice beautiful bend in the hair. So, what I like to do to achieve some volume and some looseness to it is like I'm going to have her bend over and I'm just going to loosen this all up like this. I'm going to take some styling product, the melting gel and I'm just going to run it through the ends. And again it's just a little bit, you always want to start on the ends and then work from the scalp through. Okay and just have you come up slowly. And there we go, this is a look that's really easy. It's current. It doesn't take a lot of effort, you just put it in the rollers, leave them in for about 15 to 20 minutes and now you've got this beautiful hair with a lot of bend and a lot of movement. Okay there you have it, that's how you style layered hair. I'm Louis Santelices and thank you for watching.
