- Hi my name is Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to teaching you how to do a couple of sophisticated eye makeup looks. When going for a more sophisticated eye makeup look you want to keep in mind the classic rules of eye makeup. So that means if you're going for a heavier smokier eye, you want to balance that out with a lighter lip and maybe a softer color on your cheeks. Conversely if you're going for a more lighter eye you're going to be able to pump up the lips a little bit more and maybe give your face a little bit more color. If you want to use colors, they can be really sophisticated as long as you apply them appropriately. With color you have to keep in mind what is flattering for your eye color and your skin tone. So for blue eyes like Marie, she can really do anything. She can do golds, purples, pinks, greens but we want to apply it all in the same color family and I'm going to teach you how to apply it. On Marie today I will be using Maybelline Color Explosion Luminizing Eye Shadow and the color palette that I'm choosing is called Pink Punch. So today I'm going to do two looks. I'm going to do more of a daytime and then a look that's great for nighttime. So we're going to use color on Marie and these colors are really flattering for her beautiful blue eyes and her skin tone. She's what we call more of a cool tone so cool color tones can use anything from purples and pinks to greens to blues. I'd stay away from blue if you have blue eyes but if you have hazel eyes or green eyes, blue will look nice on you. I'm going to take this light shimmery pink and I'm going to apply that across the entire lid. So starting from the roots of the eyelashes all the way up to the eye brow. This is a nice base for us and it's just going to even out her eyelid and illuminize it. This is a nice soft pink for daytime so it's really flattering and it's not going to make her look too overdone. Then I'm going to take the medium pink and I'm going to apply that all the way across the lid from the eyelashes up to the middle just underneath the brow bone. So I'm just going to leave that spot free of this medium color pink. And then, I'm going to take this, this is like a goldish purply pink, it's really beautiful and I'm going to use that just as a little contour, just right here under the brow bone and I'm going to bring it down almost like a little V and that's going to contour the eye and it will really bring out the shape of your eyes. And now underneath I'm going to use this same darky pinky purple gold color and I'm going to use a small liner brush and bring that down and wiggle it into the lower lashes and you don't want too much down there for daytime. You just want a little hint of color and a little definition in your eyes and then I'm going to take the lightest color that we first started with and I'm going to put that just right in her tear ducts and that's going to just give her a little pop of light in the eyes and make her look more awake. So this is a perfect natural daytime look using color sophisticatedly. On Marie I just finished off her second eye and I put one coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes. So as you can see there's just a little bit of a definition and the rest is just this beautiful light pink and a medium pink. Now if you want to do more of a sophisticated eye makeup for the evening with color, you can just build on to what you already have with this darker purple and then this is like a shimmery silver color and that's going to really make the eyes sparkle. So first I'm going to use this silver and I'm going to just press it up just right into above the brow bone and for a sophisticated look, you know, you don't want to look gaudy. You don't want to look overdone and like it's just too much. So this because it has a lot of sparkle, it has big flecks of sparkle, I want to really be just sparing with it and not put a whole lot up there. So we just have a little bit of a highlight but most of the sparkle that we're going to use is going to go on the inner corner so just look up with your eyes and you're just going to tap it right into the tear duct and that's going to attract light and really make your eyes sparkle. It's so beautiful. Now I'm going to have to clean that up a little bit underneath but you can see already that that's just like wow, really wakes up the eyes. Now I'm going to take the darkest color of this palette, the dark purple and I'm going to go over the medium purple that I had done for the daytime and do that same little V and we're just going to intensify that contour under the brow. So that's going to create, you know, kind of a smoky eye for the evening and then, for the rest of Marie's face, we would do maybe a light pink blush and almost a nude lipstick. You want to be mindful to keep your makeup in the same color family especially if you want that sophisticated look. So now I'm going to take the medium pink and I'm just going to go in the middle just to add a little bit more color to this eye. Okay and then I'm going to take my liner brush and with the darkest purple I'm going to go on the bottom lashes and just sweep that all along the bottom lashes, really close to the lash line, just wiggle the brush right into your lash line. You can even use your finger to just kind of smudge it so that it blends nicely together and then I'll take a little bit more of our sparkly silver and just tap that in there. So now that we've got more of a colorful darker eye for the evening, you could go ahead and add just a tiny bit of liner on the top there, a black liner would be nice or you can just leave it as is. I put on another coat of mascara. So there you have it, there are a couple great sophisticated eye makeup looks that you can do. Thanks for watching. I'm Hilda Levierge.
