- Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark professional hairstylist and salon owner, and today I'm going to talk to you about how to get soft hair. So the best way to get soft hair on your own is number 1, the products that you use at home are very important and 2, the products that you use while you're styling and then 3, your blow dry technique and I'm going to go over a few of those with you and today I started with Garnier Fructis Daily Care Shampoo. We did a light shampoo and this shampoo is great because it has grapefruit extract in it which will help close the cuticle of the hair and add shine. The next thing I did was I added a shine serum to Vanessa's hair and we did a nice blow dry and I blow dried with the growth of the hair so that we're not roughing up the cuticle, you want to go right in the direction of the growth using a blow dryer that has a nozzle cause the nozzle will concentrate the air in one direction and always blow drying down with the growth of the hair. You never want to blow dry up at the hair because it'll actually cause more frizz and just blow dry it nice and easy, you never want to stay in one place so you don't keep the hair up too much and blow dry right down the length of the hair just like that. So what's happening is the heat from the blow dryer is not only distributing the product throughout the hair but it also heats it up and it kind of coats the hair and so that keeps the hair hydrated and smooth and that gives you a lot of flexibility and shine. One last thing to remember is when you're doing your blow dry you may want to use a flexible hairspray. You don't want to use a hairspray that's, that has too much hold to it. Sometimes they say like a lacquer, you don't want to lacquer your hair down, plaster it down, you want something that you can actually brush through. It'll still give you a lot of hold and control but it wont make your hair sticky and that's how to get soft hair. I am Jeremy Clark, thanks for watching.
