- Celebrity hairstylist David Dang here, showing you simple curly hair styles. There's a lot of iconic hairstyles out there that are curly, such as Selma Hayek, Shakira, Penelope Cruz, and I'm going to show you how to do that in an easy one-two-three format. All you need at home is a curling iron, pins, clips, hair bands, combs and a hair tie, and I'm going to be using a mousse. I'm going to be using the EverStyle Curl Activating mousse by L'Oreal Paris. so to work your curls everyday, what you'll need is like, you know, just a curling irons, you have your remedies at home on how to do it, but I'm going to show you with unruly curling hair, like Bionca here, how to control and how to maintain it and make it an easy style. So I'm going to use, and the most easiest that you're going to use is a mousse. So what you do is you just use a mousse, so you need just a little bit like that, and then go ahead and just put it in your hands. Once again, you're just going to put it from mids to ends, mids to ends. You can definitely, it's recommended to put it on damp hair, but dry hair's fine too. You just need a little bit of a diffuser in order to control some of the product that's already been distributed throughout the hair. Walah, and this is how it looks. It's starting to maintain it already. Now from here you can either use a blow dryer, or you can go into straight to curl. It's fine doing it either way. I would recommend blow drying it, but I'm just going to go ahead and cut to the curling. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to do a little chenille, I'm going to make a little bun, just showing you how easy it is to use the texture of her current hair right now, and just defining it, a couple pieces with a little bit of a curl. So I'm going to section the front. I always want to section so that the hair is evenly distributed throughout the hair. And here we go. So I'm just going to go ahead and curl back away from the face. Again, gravity is not our friend, we just want to work away from the face. Just take a couple pieces, just so you can define it. And as you can tell, she already has some curls, but some of the spots are uneven, some are curlier than the others, so we're just going to kind of like even it out throughout the hair. Go ahead and curl it back, almost like your magic wand, and then release. And as you could tell, the curl is a lot more defined, a lot more wavier. So as you could see, I'm already starting to curl it, making it defined, really really pretty, and it's almost like the Taylor Swift, you know, curls. Which is nice, you know? And you just need those front portions right here, so when you pull back into the bun, it's very nice and defined. And as you can tell, I didn't do it back here, just because the unruliness of her curls are going to give us the volume that we need, and that's the stuff that's giving us a power shuze, the things that we're going to need to work with. And it's actually cutting us in half, the time that we're going to be doing this entire hairstyle. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and kind of give her a lift in here. Go ahead and turn it. Just use my rubber band, and there we go. Half the work's already done. Perfect. So as we have it here, we'll go ahead and just right over left, left over right. Just put it down. Then go and pin it in. That simple. So as I'm putting this in here, remember that the fact that it's unruly in the back, it's fighting the time. You know, we don't have time to do this in the morning, especially when you're going to work, or you have like a really important meeting, and you just don't have time to do a lot. This is literally a two to three minute process. It's just in and out, because you already have the volume that's going on from the curls that are naturally put in there for you. And once that's in there, just get it stick in there. If you need one or two more, go ahead and put it in. There is no minimum or maximum. Just remember, it needs to be secured. So just in case you're doing head bobs in a meeting, it's able to stand. Now, all you have to do from here, is just take everything back and put it into the bun. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to put some of it in the bun. Use your pins, not the bobby pins, the pins are the ones that are loose and not so tight. And that's going to help give you the definition that you need. Sometimes I'll go ahead and put down one or two of the bangs, just for like a nice definition, a nice look, nothing like too like straight, too tight. So as you can see, all I did was just take a pin and put it back here. The curls are already done for us. That took us two to three minutes in the front, and then I'll just curl it back here. Now, you can see my cascading layers on Bianca, I cascaded the layers. I didn't pull them all the way back so there so direct and taught. I'm going to make them a little more cascading, and give it that nice, nice flow. Taylor Swift loves to do this. This is her classic red carpet look. And that's how easy it's done. And she wears this look most often, just because it's so easy to go, and matches her face. It just goes very well. Now the face frame here, you can tell, I still have one left. But I'm going to go like this. I left one down here, just for the look, and I left on here. Just for another, like give it more drama, more dimension. And it frames her face very well. And Bianca's very beautiful. So again, this works with anybody who has unruly curly hair, or just overly curly that it's too wiry to handle. But that volume that you have naturally, it just works well for you. And all you have to do is just finish it off with some hairspray. Lighter the better, nothing too hard. Just because again, you want these to look soft and stay in all day. A nice soft curl. And as you can see back here, it's a little messy. That's fine. That's the look. It's a messy bun. But the difference between this and just regular buns, is that you have texture, you have body, you have the drama. And there you have it. Simple curly hairstyles. David Dang, celebrity hairstylist, and I'll see you here next time.
