Hello I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm going to show you how to do runway makeup. So today I'm going to show you a look that starts with a fresh pale skin, a smoldering eye and a bold deep red lip. Let's get started. So for the lip we're going to use Color Sensational Lip Color by Maybelline. For the eye I'm going to use a smoldering kind of pewter color palette. So I'm choosing a shape that's round and I'm focusing less on her lash line, less on the liner and more about this round smoldering shape. Let's get started. Rather than doing a traditional focus on the contour and the highlight, I'm going to blend the shadow in a circular motion all over her lid and into the lash line. I'm using also a soft round brush which gives me the ability to just blend the powder in a more circular less precision kind of a manner. I'm using these pewtery shadows in a circular motion focusing on an overall rounded shape on her eye rather than giving a traditional contoured highlighted look, I want to just give a nice smooth haze of color around the entire eye, fading out into her skin tone. I've just switched brushes. I'm using a soft rounded large shadow brush to give me a little more control. I wanted to make sure that I got the color right up here into the outer bone structure of the eye and gently fade so I'm using a little more flat brush rather than the soft round brush. I'm going to have you look up and I'm going to come right under the eyes following that same rounded pattern, bringing the shadowing all the way down, into sort of a circular pattern. You'll find often what you see on the runways inspirational. It doesn't have to be necessarily wearable for the everyday lifestyle but you can take inspiration from runway and maybe bring it to a fun even like a club outing or maybe a special event or party. Okay, so on the underside of the eye you're going to see I'm going to be creating more of a circular motion, more of a faded swoosh, not so much focused on a traditional beauty where it's about contouring and highlighting. I just want more of a general orb of diffused color going gradually out from the eye. You may have also noticed that I brought the color all the way up into the brow area particularly on the inner side and then faded it back down to keep it kind of circular. That's another thing that maybe you wouldn't do every day but for this type of look, it's just more fun. It's a little more unexpected. Now instead of bringing very much color into the cheek or contouring her face like you traditionally would, I'm going to force the contour really a little bit further out towards the hairline here. I'm using sort of an ashy bronze, a little more gray in it, less of a brownish bronze because I just want it to look more like a shadow and exaggerate her bone structure really more than adding color to her skin. Traditionally you may apply a blush right on the apple of the cheek moving around the cheek towards the hairline but for this look I wanted to really exaggerate her bone structure so I've kept the shadowing more on the outer part of the cheek towards her hairline. Now I'm going to apply a lip color, deep deep crimson red. I chose this lip color because I wanted to use something that's bold and deep, something that will really make a statement just like it would on a runway. This beautiful deep crimson red really pulls off that kind of a look, grabs the attention of the eye and frames the mouth on this beautiful pale face. As you can see I've just finished her lip with a sheer coat of gloss to give it a pop of shine and the overall look is unconventional but it's striking. It grabs the eye and that's one way you can use runway inspiration to do your makeup. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
