- Hi, I'm Jenny Balding, professional hairstylist. Today, I'm going to show you how to get really curly hair with mousse. When you want to just get curly hair there are so many different ways but with really curly hair I suggest that you use product and a diffuser to get that result. So today I'm just going to start with her hair damp, it's wet damp at the moment. I'm going to take the mousse section by section and take it through from roots to ends. The product I'm going to use today is Fresh Curls Spring Mousse by Redken. So, I'm going to take the mousse and put it in from roots to ends. I'm going to work my way up the head. You don't want to just put it on in just the top because the underneath will be dry and you won't be able to really get through every single section of hair. So just use the size of a golf ball I would say into your palm and don't use all of it just take some and work it through from roots to ends, and reapply as you need. Depending on the thickness of your hair, depending on how thick or little you take your sections. What's great about this mousse is it actually has coconut oil in it which is very important to moisturize the curls and this in turn will really boost the curls to get a very very curly look. It definitely re-energizes and revitalizes. So you can see already that I've diffused this part of the head already and it's gotten really really curl and it's really shiny also. So I'm going to continue onto this side and show you how you can get that really defined curl. Okay so when you're actually using the diffuser make sure it's on a low heat and a low speed, very important so you don't over dry the ends of the hair. So I'm going to work it into just beginning at the root area and then afterwards you can work it in through the ends. Because the ends will dry much quicker anyway because they're the oldest part of the hair. So if you continue like that all the way up to the top of the head. Okay so let's diffuse. So you can see I'm just setting the hair. I'm barely touching it either. I'm just lifting the roots and letting the air do the rest. The less you touch the hair the better the curl will be. Now the roots are dry now we can just lightly go onto the ends. Again just placing it into the diffuser, not scrunching into it because that way you'll make the hair frizzy. What's great about using a mousse especially with like coconut oil in the hair, that it's going to preserve the memory so that means it's going to stay really nice and curly and shiny all day and it's not going to drop at any point because you really worked it in from roots to end, section by section. So, the result is pretty fantastic and that's how you get really curly hair with mousse. I'm Jenny Balding, and thank you for watching.
