- Hi. I'm beauty expert, Tracy O'Connor and today I'm going to show you how to put on eye cream. So, for our tutorial, I'm going to use the Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado oil, by Kiehl's. Now, when applying eye cream, there are a few things to keep in mind. As we get older, I recommend using eye cream both a.m. and p.m. If you're a little bit younger, I think it's OK just to use the eye cream during the evening. So, when you're in your twenties, maybe use the eye cream in the evening. And as we get in to our thirties and forties, that's a time to use it both morning and evening. I'm just going to take the tiniest amount of eye cream, just about this much and I'm going to warm up the cream just between my fingers because that's going to help the cream penetrate in to the eye area. When applying eye cream, use the orbital bone as your guide. You don't want to apply the eye cream any higher than your orbital bone. If you just gently tap, you can feel the guideline here. OK. So, here's your cheekbone, so you want to start at the cheekbone. You want to move in. You can feel this orbital bone. You don't want to go above the orbital bone, because it can migrate in to the mucus membrane and irritate the eyes. Now, this product was specifically formulated not to migrate. But if you're choosing another eye cream at home, this is really key. Be very aware, just gently tap the product underneath the eye, gentle, gentle, tapping motions. And again, I like to use my ring finger, because it's delicate. One tip, don't tug, you don't want to tug the eye area. The skin around the eye is very delicate. It is thinner than the rest of the facial skin. When choosing an eye cream, look for ingredients like this has, avocado oil. Avocado oil will help to build the protein structure of your skin. It' is proven to stimulate collagen, which is fantastic for reducing fine lines. One of the reasons we want to apply an eye cream is to kind of reduce the fine lines and wrinkles that we develop, the expression lines around our eyes., Also a lot of us have a tendency to have a little bit of dark circle. You can see, Ashlin has just a tiny bit of dark circles here. And an eye cream will definitely help to remedy that. Other incredible ingredients are the vitamins. Vitamins A, E and D which are in this eye cream, and also amino acids. Amino acids are really going to help to improve the nutrition quality of the skin. They're delivering protein to the skin and that's going to make your eye area more resilient. It's going to firm the eye area, it's going to smooth the eye area, give you a nice smooth texture to the skin. When using an eye cream you want to choose an eye cream that is ophthalmologist approved. You don't want something that is going to be harsh or abrasive on the eye area. Again, the area around the eye is very delicate. So, it's important to choose the right product with ingredients that are gentle yet effective. One fantastic tip that a lot of people don't know, apply your eye cream right here across the bridge of your nose. We can get little bunny lines here as we get older. Ashlin's very young. But a lot of us will notice the fine lines developing right on the edges of our nose, right here where the skin is also thin. I like to apply my eye cream right there in between the brow and again, on the sides of the nose. And another little tip, you can also apply eye cream as we mature, right here just on the little bow of our lip where you start to see a little bit of feathering sometimes as we get older. So, that's a great piece of advice. All right. we've finished applying the eye cream on Ashlin, and her skin looks great. Her under eye area already looks firmer, smoother and more hydrated. And that is how to put on eye cream. I'm Tracy O'Connor. Thanks for watching.
