- Hi, I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist and today I'm going to show you how to shadow and highlight your oval face. So I'm going to begin with the Blush Subtil Palette in Rouge Aloure by Lancome. This makes it foolproof. I've got my contour shade that I'm going to put right below her apple of her cheek. I've got the blusher that will go right at the apple and then the highlighter that will go in right above that. So I'm going to take this matte brown to create more of a cheekbone right under that apple of her cheek and I'm going to blend it really well so that it gives the illusion but you're not seeing that line. Then above that I'm going to apply the blusher color right from the apple of the cheek out and up and you can see that I'm also angling these at this angle to create the beautiful look that I'm getting right here. I don't want to create too much shadow but just enough because she has an oval face and then at the very top of her cheekbone right in here, I go with the third color, the highlighter and that makes the cheekbone pop out. Light colors bring forward and dark colors recede and that's what we want to do with the highlighter and the contour shade at the bottom. A little thing I like to do too is create a V pattern right at the outer edge of the eye with the highlighter. Now this product is in every makeup artist's kit and what I love in particular is the fact that it takes all the guesswork out for you. You've got your products and now you know how to place them on the face. And that's how to properly shadow and highlight your oval face. I'm Kendra Richards. Thanks for watching.
