- Hi I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm going to show you how to get the perfect nude lip. When I'm doing a nude lip I like to really focus on generally starting with a bold eye, a smoky eye, that way you have a nice balance and the nude lip really is a beautiful compliment to the smoky eye. So I've already gone ahead and done that with her eyes and one other thing I like to start with is neutralizing the lip. If you have a lot of pigment in your lip or maybe you've got a naturally kind of berry pink lip color, a trick is to cover that and block it out using maybe a concealer or a little bit of your foundation. So I'm going to take a little concealer with a brush and go ahead right over the top of her lips. It might look a little weird at first but it's a great way to neutralize the lip and prep it giving you a neutral clean canvas. Now all of her lip color is gone. Second I'll choose a great lip color. And now I'm going to show you how to do this using the Maybelline Color Sensational Pearls in Champagne Shimmer. Using a lip brush I'm going to apply some lipstick right on her lips. You can also use it from the tube, whatever is easier for you at home. The lip brush gives you a little more precision and control. I find when using a bold color I like to use a brush. A nude color is going to be you know, a lot softer on the skin so you may not need as much precision, but we'll use a brush today anyway. Once you finish the lip color you can go ahead and use a little bit of lip gloss to get a little more pop and sheen. When you have you know a very neutral lip color with a beautiful shade of nude, a gloss will help give the dimension by creating some shine, it's beautiful. And there you have it, that is how to create a beautiful nude lip. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
