- Hi, I'm Tara Shakespeare, celebrity makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you the perfect lipstick color. When choosing a lipstick color, it's important to take into consideration skin tones and hair color. With Emily, she's very fair, but she has a beautiful strong red-colored hair, so we're going to choose a lipstick to complement both. Today, I'm going to be using L'Oreal Infallible lipstick on Emily. So the color we're going to use on Emily is Always Apricot. To start off with, I'm going to lightly conceal Emily's lips, because she has a very strong pink natural color underneath. Just with a tiny amount of concealer. This ensures that the color lipstick you're putting on is the true color that's coming through. So I've prepped Emily's lips with a touch of concealer. Now I'm going to do a soft line to outline them. Starting at the corners. We don't want to make this too harsh because the main lip color we're using is particularly strong. The purpose of the lip liner is just to stop any bleeding of the main lipstick. To apply the lipstick to Emily's lips, I'm going to use a flat lip liner brush. You'll notice the shape on the top, it makes it much easier to apply to the Cupid's bow. I'm going to take a little bit of the product, just dab off any excess. And again, less is more. It's easier to build up. So we start with a small amount, working out. And then on the bottom as well. So if you go outside the lip liner or you mess up at all, you can easily correct it with Q-tips. It's very simple. And if you're doing a lighter application, it's not going to be a hard mistake to correct. So this color is perfect for Emily, because it brings out the pinkness of her cheeks while also tying in the redness of her hair. I would say this color would work well both in the evening and in the daytime. It's not too strong that you can't wear it in the day, but it's enough to add a bit of glamor to your evening. When using a strong lip color, to avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, there's a little trick you can do. You take your pinkie and go like this, it removes all lipstick from the inside, so you won't get any on your teeth. And so that's how to find your perfect lip color. I'm Tara Shakespeare, thanks for watching.
