- Hi, my name is Taylor Babaian. I'm a celebrity makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you natural makeup for darker skin. So if you have darker skin, one of the main points to consider, is to keep the natural highlights in the skin. So, what you can do is either use two different foundations. Today I'm going to show you how to do it with concealer and foundation. As you see, naturally Angelina has natural highlights in the skin. So you'll see lighter colors underneath the eyes, maybe on the bridge of the nose, darker on the forehead and the cheeks. So you want to maintain that when you're applying your foundation. So to highlight Angelina's skin, we're going to use L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer. So, before we use our concealer to highlight Angelina's skin, we're going to go in with our darker color for the base. So we're going to apply foundation to Angelina's forehead, gently tapping to make sure we get coverage. And when you're tapping foundation on, it actually adds an extra layer, kind of gives it extra coverage. And we're going to have our most pigment on the forehead area, as well as the cheeks where she naturally is darker. Now you can always highlight with two different foundation colors, today we're going to highlight with concealer. So she's a little lighter underneath the jaw, so I'm just going to apply one layer. And when you're applying foundation with one layer, you just kind of stroke it down. Same with the chin area. We're just going to apply one layer. When you have darker skin, to avoid ashy colors, don't choose the color that's underneath the eye. A lot of times you're not really sure what colors do I choose? Do I choose, you have so many different colors going on in the face, what colors do I choose? What you want to do, is you want to create contour. And you're going to contour using the colors that you naturally have. The lightest color is generally underneath the eye. The darkest color will always be on the forehead. So you're going to take those two colors, and blend them together. So we finished the foundation application, concentrating more on the forehead and the cheek bones. We did a light layer around the jaw line, and just a hint underneath the eyes. Now we're going to go in with our concealer. And again, we've already chosen our concealer. It's the same color as a little bit under her eyes. And we're going to create highlights. We're going to do a little highlight on the bridge of the nose. We're going to do highlights under the eyes. Again, you can do this with foundation, but you're going to get a little bit more coverage with concealer. And we use a larger concealer brush. You can use a smaller concealer brush, it's good, it just takes you a little bit longer, and we're going to tap that on. And the reason we're tapping is because we already have our first layer, and we don't want to remove that first layer of foundation. We just want to blend in. So when you're doing this, you can actually use your fingers, of course, to blend that in. The heat of your hand actually really does kind of help. Sponges yo can use as well. Sponges are going to absorb more product, so I don't really use sponges very often. However, it does blend easier. So we finished our foundation on Angelina. As you can see is it really gives it that fresh look. It's nice and glowy, and it contours the face, but it looks natural. So now we're going to set our foundation. And we're going to do the same thing. We're going to keep a little bit of a darker powder on the outside, and a little bit of a lighter powder underneath the eyes. And I'm using a brush, just so I could set it without getting any more pigment. I just want it to look nice and sheer, but a nice matte finish. But we don't want too much product on there. So a brush will always give you that loose release of pigment. Puffs will make it a little bit heavier. I'm going to use a lighter color. I'm going to use a little bit of a smaller brush, just so that we can kind of get in there. So we've contoured Angelina's face. You see we have the darker foundation, and then we highlighted it with our concealer, and then set it with darker powder, as well as a lighter powder. And keep in mind, this technique can actually be used on any skin tone that actually has uneven skin tone. And there you go. That's how you apply natural makeup for darker skin tones. My name's Taylor Babaian, thanks for watching.
