Hi I'm celebrity manicurist, Ashlie Johnson, and today I'm going to show you how to use nail polish for weak nails. Weak nails can happen for a multitude of different reasons. Neglect is a big one, also dryness. A good way to combat this is to use a good strengthening nail polish. For our strengthening nail polish I'm going to use Essie's Grow Stronger. The good thing about strengthening polish is that you can either use it as a base coat underneath your favorite color or you can just do two coats and leave it alone. Strengthening polishes are really helpful because they help seal the nail and they usually have a lot of vitamins and minerals that help the nails. There's coat one and you can either now apply your favorite color or another coat of the strengthener. So Jenny opted for the more natural look. So we're going to go ahead and apply a second layer of the strengthening polish. This will help just give the nails a little bit more protection. The great thing about this strengthening polish too is it has a little bit of a pink tint so it's almost like wearing a light pink polish. So after the second coat of strengthening polish is one, you can go ahead and finish the look off with a little bit of cuticle oil and you can just put it around the cuticles and the edges of your nail. One of the biggest culprits of weak nails is dryness so this is a really good preventative measure. A strengthening polish is best applied every few days, usually twice a week is the average. And there you go. That's how to use nail polish for weak nails. I'm Ashlie Johnson. Thanks for watching.
