- Hello, I'm Spencer Barnes celebrity makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to do makeup for very oily skin. When you have oily skin there are a couple of things to consider. First when you are choosing products make sure that you prep the skin with oil free products. Use a hydrating moisturizer that's oil free. Second make sure you choose makeup products that are also oil free or have oil absorbing properties. A foundation that is oil free, powders. And in the eye area particularly it's helpful to use water-proof or water resistant eyeliners and mascara to keep the makeup on all day. And I would recommend the powdered shadow over a cream base shadow. Lets get started with foundation. Today, I'm going to use the Dream Matte mousse by Maybelline. I'll start by applying a little bit of the product right into the T zone blending as I go. I love how this product is smooth and velvety yet it has mattifying properties, molecules that absorb excess oil. And keep the skin looking matte and clean all day long. And if you find that you get excess oil buildup throughout the day instead of applying more powder or more makeup to cover it, I recommend using a blotting sheet to pull and lift out the excess oil. And then go back in with a little product to mattify and bring it back down. I love how this product made her cheek velvety and smooth and matt. A lot of women with oily skin find that they have enlarged pores and a product like this will really help minimize their appearance. Okay now for the eyes. I like to use a water-proof or water resistance liner to help define the lash line and it will keep it from transferring or smudging throughout the day. Another trick is to use a powdered shadow for a liner because it's a drier product and it will stay in place better. I've just finished Ebony's liner and you'll notice it's a transfer resistance smudge proof liner. It does not move. And that is a great way to finish the eye. I also recommend using a water-proof mascara or a water resistant mascara and that way it won't transfer down or up if you have extra oily skin. And there you have it. That is how to do makeup for very oily skin. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
