- Hi I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm going to talk to you about how to make lips look smaller. One of the great things about makeup is it allows us to manipulate our features. Sometimes you want to make things bigger or smaller or minimize them. Today I'm going to show you a trick to minimize your lip. Maybe your top lip is larger than the bottom or the opposite. Maybe you want to make them look more balanced so you make one of them look smaller. Whatever the case, there are ways to do it and I'm going to show you a couple quick tricks. Today I'll show you how to do that using the Maybelline Color Sensational Pearls in Sugared Almond. So for her I'm going to show you a little technique to minimize this bottom lip a little bit to balance it with the top lip. I'm going to use a little bit of concealer just along the bottom side of the lip. Put this on a dry clean lip and what you'll notice is we are minimizing the pigment of her natural lip tone to just kind of detract the way the light hits it and make it look a little more balanced with the top lip. Next I'm going to use some of the lipstick, the sugared almond and apply it right to the lip, focusing more on the inner part of the lip and I also chose a color that is not very intense. If you wanted to minimize the size of your lip, choosing a bright color or a popping color would only make them look more prominent on your face. So we're trying to minimize so I'm using a more neutral tone color. Alright so I just finished applying the lip color to the center of the lip on the bottom not coming all the way down but staying more in this upper center part. Now I'm going to apply a little bit of gloss just to sort of give the lip, since it's such a pale color, I want to give the lip just a little bit of sheen so that it looks you know, hydrated and does catch the light a little bit. And there you have it, it's very simple. Those are a few tricks how to make your lips look smaller. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
