- Hello I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm going to show you how to make your lashes look longer. One of the easiest ways you can start by making your lashes look longer is to use a lash curler. If your lashes are straight or they maybe just have a soft curl, you can accentuate them by bringing them up where they're more visible with a lash curler. Start by using a lash curler that has a soft pad to make sure that you don't crimp or break your lashes. There's many on the market but use one that has a nice soft pad. Start by lifting the lid gently and making sure that you get all of the lashes inside and then just gently squeeze. You can do it a few times and that will ensure that you get a nice even lift to the lashes all the way across. If you want to do it a little more, you can come back a second time. Notice how that instantly made her lashes look longer, her eyes look more open, that's the first step. Now I'm going to use Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara. Notice the shape of the applicator. It gives you great precision towards the tip but then the full part of the wand lets you really work through and deposit the color from the roots of the lashes all the way to the ends. Use the wand to spread the lashes, to work the color from the root, all the way to the tips and that way you sort of fan them out and make sure they're separated and defined making the eye look bigger, more open and the lashes to look fuller and longer and the little tip on the end gives you greater precision to separate and define the lashes in the tighter areas. Make sure you coat the lashes both on top and from underneath ensuring that your lashes are evenly coated, looking longer, thicker and more defined. For a clean look you can leave the makeup with just the top lashes with mascara or if you want to add a little more drama or definition you can come in and do a light coat or even a full coat on the bottom. Let's go ahead and do a little bit on the bottom just for greater added definition and also to balance the eyes. As you can see her lashes look long and accentuated. They're separated. I started by again curling the lashes, combing through them with the Maybelline Great Lash and separating them making sure that they're smooth and separated and the overall effect is a wide open eyed effect with long extended lashes and that is how to make your eye lashes look longer. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
