- Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark, professional hairstylist and salon owner, and today I'm going to talk to you about how to maintain long strong healthy hair. So what happens when you have long hair? Sometimes long hair will start to get damaged and frayed at the ends. It will start to lose the color and look a little dull and it's important to keep your hair healthy so that it looks just as healthy on the ends as it does at the roots. It's important to take care of your hair on a daily basis and your shampoos and conditioners are really important. It's good to make sure that you use a shampoo that is gentle and doesn't strip the hair because over time that can cause damage. I like to use the Garnier Fructis Daily Care Shampoo. It's gentle enough that it's not going to damage your hair over the long term and it has moisturizing ingredients. It has emollients. It has antioxidants and natural protein and the citrus extract will help make your hair shiny. We used this shampoo on Sarah's hair and you can see we've got tons of shine, tons of body. It didn't strip the hair and leave it frizzy looking and it just really kind of moisturizes and makes the hair feel nice. Another thing that's really important is to watch how you brush your hair. You don't want to take the tangles out of your hair while it's wet because wet hair is actually more elastic and it can stretch to the point of breakage a lot easier than dry hair can. So detangle the hair while it's dry and start at the bottom of the hair where the tangles are and work your way up to the top rather than just ripping through from the top down. It's also good to take a multivitamin, biotin is good for the hair and B vitamins will help your hair grow strong and healthy. Those are some tips on how to maintain long strong healthy hair. I'm Jeremy Clark. Thanks for watching.
