- Celebrity hairstylist, David Dang showing you how you can get loose curls with a flatiron. Now with the economy being the way it is, everything is becoming economically friendly and what that means in the beauty world is more versatility out of your tools. So today's topic is showing you how you can do loose curls with a flatiron. So here are some of the tools that we're going to be using, flatiron, clips, a brush, comb and mousse. The mousse that we'll be using today is the L'Oreal Paris EverStyle Curl Activating Mousse. As you get your tools ready and heated, what you need to do is use the mousse, that is required to hold the hair. And this is probably how much mousse you need. Since it expands, all we need is just a little bit, once again, less is more. From mids to ends, mids to ends. So once again I've already prepped Ingrid and her hair is really nice and soft and ready to go and has that grip and the hold that it needs. Then you go ahead and quadrant and section your hair out. So with sectioning it's very important because you want to use each section correctly so it's from the back crown area to the back of the ear. You want to distribute the hair correctly too because each positioning of the flatiron is going to count, go ahead and put that back and then start to curl. Now, using the curling iron what you're going to be doing is you're going to hold the hair taut and go ahead and start iron in, roll the curl over and start to curl it and pull until that fishtail is gone, then curl back in. Once you get that, go ahead and release and you see that we have a nice curl already. Then we'll go ahead and continue that on. And Ingrid looks amazing. So this is how you're going to curl it and you can take it further by going ahead and making it hold by using your Elnett Hairspray, spray it all over, run your hands through it, just lightly, just to break up any lines that you have from the sectioning. And there you have it, that's how you're going to get your loose curls with your flatiron. This is David Dang, celebrity hairstylist. We'll catch you here next time.
