- Hi, my name is Hilda Levierge, and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to use lipliner that won't smudge. I'm going to use Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in pink. So first what I like to do before I apply lip liner is to exfoliate the dead skin cells on your lips. So you can do that by using a warm washcloth and just gently rubbing your lips. Or a wet toothbrush. And then apply a little bit of lip balm to soften the lips so the color glides on smoothly. So just start at the top of the lips and gently come down to the outer corner. Follow it around, bottom of the lips. And you never want to go outside of your natural lip line. You always want your lip liner to look really natural. It's there to help your lipstick stay on longer. And help your lipstick from feathering. So just try to keep it really natural and don't go outside of your natural lip line. So you can either do this and then apply lipstick. Or what I like to do is fill in the entire lip with the lip liner. And that way it helps to keep the lipstick, that really helps the lipstick to stay on longer. And it also prevents that dreaded lip liner line if your lipstick rubs off. So you'll still have some color if our lipstick starts to wear off. So now I'm going to go ahead and apply just a pink toned lip gloss over top. You could also use a clear depending on the lip liner that you use. This is a really pretty pink lip liner so I'm going to go for a light pink lip gloss. So there you go you have a beautiful defined lip with a little pop of gloss. And you're all set. So that's how you apply a lip liner that won't smudge. Thanks for watching I'm Hilda Levierge.
