Hi, I'm Carla Kay; I'm Celebrity Manicurist. Today, I'm going to show you how to keep your top coat from cracking. So, how do you make your polish last longer? It's all about the top coat. And I'm going to use Good To Go by Essie. So, when applying a top coat, you want to make sure you wipe off the excess clear and just start at the bottom and stroke all the way to the top. And capping off the edge here will help them from chipping as well. So, again, flat brush all the way to the edge, each side and then capping off. This will also prevent the polish from fading. If your nail start to look dull, I always recommend put, applying another top coat; it'll bring back the shine and actually add longevity to the wear of the polish. And some people have actually asked me what's the difference between a top coat and base coat. Can I use a top coat as my base coat? If you don't have a base coat at home, you could use a top coat, but it's, it's, the base coat is use as a primer; a top coat, if that's all you have, it, it would be good as far as not staining the nails, but it's not going to probably last as long as if you actually use a base coat. The top coat actually adheres to the polish which is essential to keeping the manicure lasting longer and avoiding chipping. And there you go, that's how you keep your nail polish top coat from cracking. I'm Carla Kay, thanks for watching.
