- Hi, I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to keep your Summer makeup fresh. In the Summer, you're exposed to humidity and Summer heat and I'm going to show you how to preserve your makeup throughout the day by using a finishing powder. So I'm going to use Translucence in shade 200 by Lancome and I've selected a shade that's very similar to her skin tone. It's an exact match but it's very translucent so it goes on virtually undetectable. I'm going to tap my brush into the powder and then tap onto her forehead. I'm going to begin with her forehead and work my way down her face. This translucence powder has a 12 hour wear. It will hold up to humidity and heat for 12 hours. It won't shift. It won't change color with the oils in your skin as you're maybe perspiring throughout the day. Now this powder is designed to preserve your makeup, not designed for coverage. It will preserve the makeup that you put on. So because translucence is sheer, you're not going to be building coverage, you're going to be maintaining your makeup. If you're feeling like you're perspiring and you want to do a touch up throughout the day you can do that and it's not going to build a lot of cakey coverage. It's going to be sheer and radiant. So a final tip in hot humid Summer months to maintain your makeup is to choose an eye makeup in a gel liner and a waterproof mascara for durability throughout the day as well.
