- Hi my name is Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to be telling you why honey is good for your lips. Honey is great for your lips because it's antibacterial and antifungal and works as a disinfecting agent. It also has a little bit of abrasive qualities to it. So if you have chapped lips or dry lips it really helps to moisturize them and smooth them out. Honey also contains lots of amino acids and vitamins so it's really nourishing and good for your lips. So a great product that I'm going to be using today that has honey in it is Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Make Me Pink. So I chose this beautiful pink for Liz's lips because she's already wearing a pink lip liner so I'm just going to, I'm actually going to use a lip brush but you can of course just take it straight out of the tube. On other people it's sometimes easier to use a lip brush. So I'm going to start just in the center of the lips and just bring it all the way through and this is really going to nourish her lips because it has that honey in it and if she has any sort of dry skin it's going to help to moisten that and prevent it as she keeps reapplying this lipstick throughout the day. So it acts as a little treatment for your lips which is so great and that's just going on really smoothly. So if your lips are dry or they're chapping, anything with honey is so great for your lips because it has a lot of vitamins and amino acids which are really nourishing to your skin. It acts as an antibacterial and antifungal so it's going to help to disinfect and just really heal your lips if you have that chapped kind of painful burning lip, sometimes chapped lips can really be painful and it can be painful to apply lipstick while you have chapped lips. So this is going to be a really nice lipstick for you because it's going to treat your lips and give them color and they have so many different shades. I really like the pink for people that have more cool toned skins with the darker hair and the lighter eyes. If you have more of a golden complexion, there's plenty of beautiful bronzes and browns.
