Hi I'm Caile Noble, celebrity hairstylist and I'm going to show you how to do a French twist. JoAnn's hair is just naturally left undone. We've established a side parting from the center of the crown down to the nape. You're going to go in and tease the hair so that the French twist has a good foundation. With a tail comb, you're going to go in taking vertical sections of the hair and teasing right into the base and there you have your first section. You're going to continue around the head taking vertical sections and teasing at the base so you have a good foundation for the French twist. What I like to do is just through the top of the section, take that away, do a little tease there, that way the top of the French twist will come into the side, having a nice smooth effect. Now that it's teased, we're using a Garnier Fructis Full Control Hairspray. I'm placing the spray on the underside of each section right at the base to the mid shaft of the hair. Now that one top section that I flipped away it's going to give a little bit right there as well. Now you're going to go in with your flat brush and you're going to take all the existing hair that we've just teased and you're going to brush it back into place. It's very important you get the grain of the hair all traveling in the same direction. Now place bobby pins starting at the nape of the neck working your way up vertically through the hair. Once you have the bobby pins in place, I like to place one going downward. Now I'm going to repeat these steps on the other side. Now I've teased the other side and I'm going to go with my flat brush and brush the hair around and then twist it into place. Now, as you can see I've been brushing, I have it all right where I want it, I take my hand and grab the entire piece of hair then I take this hand and begin to form the twist. If you have very long hair, you're going to want to tuck it up into the twist. Once you twist it around in place, just lightly put your pins at the base of the twist, kind of like a stitching form, just go ahead and give it a light spray and use your tail comb to smooth anything down and set it in place. And that's how you do a French twist. I'm Caile Noble. Thank you for watching.
