Hi I'm beauty expert, Tracy O'Connor and today I'm going to show you how to firm facial skin. A key feature of healthy, youthful skin is elastic skin. As we get older, our skin tends to become a little less firm and less resilient. It doesn't have the same bounce that it does like a rubber band when we are younger. So what is important as we get older to restore that youthful radiance and that vibrancy and that elasticity to the skin is choosing products that are going to deliver ingredients that are going to restore that cellular activity that are going to promote the production of collagen to firm the skin and elastin to give us that elasticity back. On Ashlyn today I'm going to demonstrate how to use a cream that will help to restore that vitality and balance to the skin. We're going to be using the Rosa Arctica by Kiehl's. So I'm going to start by taking just about a dime size amount of the cream and this cream tends to be a little bit thicker so I'm just going to warm that between my fingertips. That's going to allow for better penetration of the cream into the skin. Now I can feel that the cream is ready and we're going to go ahead and apply on to Ashlyn's skin. Now cream like this you want to apply both morning and night after you've cleansed. I absolutely love products and formulations that contain natural botanicals to help fight aging and restore that gorgeous radiance to our skin, that youthful radiance. This cream contains a very rare flower, a very rare botanical called the Resurrection Flower which basically restores the vitality to your skin cells so it gives your skin cells kind of a jolt of cellular activity. What that means is it encourages the production of collagen and elastin. Elastin is the support structure of our skin, it's what gives our skin that bounce, that kind of rubber band like quality that is so characteristic of youthful skin. I'm going to go ahead and get just a little bit more and apply this also to Ashlyn's neck and to the chest. If you have more mature skin, you're definitely going to notice a loss of elasticity around the jawline and the neck so it's important to apply your cream and any kind of treatment product also on that area right around the jawline. Now there are other ways as well to restore elasticity and firmness to your skin. It is proven that exercise delivers firmer, healthier, thicker skin. The circulation that you get when you exercise delivers oxygen to the skin cell, oxygen in turn tells your body to produce more collagen and elastin. It tells your body to kind of get into shape and get healthier. Studies show that women who exercise have healthier, thicker, firmer skin. Firmer skin is definitely going to be more elastic. One final tip as we all know, eat healthy. Eating healthy foods, eating foods high in omega oils, eating foods that are going to nourish the skin and deliver nutrition to our skin cells is definitely the way to go if we're looking for more elastic skin. I also notice that sleep is maybe one of the most important factors in healthy younger looking skin. At night the growth and repairing hormone is at work and that is when our skin is going to be regenerating and that cellular activity is happening, our collagen is being produced, our elastin is being produced. If we're not getting enough sleep, your body doesn't have enough time to regenerate so we're going to notice that in our skin. If we're tired and we're not getting enough sleep, it's going to show in the skin. In addition to a product regimen, I think having a facial every six to eight weeks will help to deliver a more youthful radiance to the skin as well. And there you go, that is how to have firmer healthier skin. I'm Tracy O'Connor. Thanks for watching.
