- Hi I'm beauty expert, Tracy O'Connor and today I'm going to give you a few tips on how to use a facial moisturizer whether you have oily skin or dry skin or combination skin and it's the kind of product that you want to use both a.m. and p.m. Now to demonstrate how to use a facial moisturizer I'm going to use the Ultra Facial Cream by Kiehl's. Okay now everybody like I said needs to use a facial moisturizer whether your skin is dry, oily or combination. Now Aslyn's skin I'm feeling is a little bit dry. It looks like she's got a little bit of dry skin around the jawline, maybe your traditional T zone oiliness and then a little bit of dryness again right on the edges of the forehead. Now when applying the product you want to apply to the four parts of the face, the forehead, the cheeks, the chin and the nose. Okay and when you apply the product you want to work the product in upward and outward motions. You want to avoid the eye area. We don't want the product migrating into your mucous membranes where it can cause some irritation. I love the texture of this product. First of all it's lightweight but I can tell that it does a really great job moisturizing. It has an ingredient called Squalane which is a healing botanical lipid from the olive plant and it just goes right into the skin. It just readily absorbs right into Ashlyn's skin and I can just see it's almost like I can just see her skin cells absorbing the moisture. Now when using a moisturizer you also want to apply just a little bit of product to your neck and to your chest. As we get older we do see the signs of aging on our neck and our chest. Our neck and chest skin happens to be thinner than the skin on our face so the signs of aging show up a little bit sooner on the neck and chest. Also, the way we sleep sometimes if you sleep on your side you'll notice fine lines developing around the neck. One key thing that this particular product does and that a really good moisturizer does, it helps protect your skin from the elements and it also helps protect your skin from aging. I think the better hydrated your skin is, the healthier it's going to look over the years. Now this product has glycoproteins which are known to protect the skin from the environment and to really create a nice level of hydration in the skin which is kind of an insurance policy. And there you go, a few tips on how to use a facial moisturizer. I'm Tracy O'Connor. Thanks for watching.
