- Hi my name is Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to be teaching you how to apply eye shadow to give your eyes impact. Your eyes are your most expressive feature and it's really important to give them impact and the best way to do that is to define them with the right colors for your eyes and enhance them with something that's going to compliment the color and the shape. So today on Marie I'm going to be using Maybelline Color Explosion Luminizing Eye Shadow and the color is called Caffeine Rush. When doing your makeup for the most impact, the things that you want to do are really define the eyes and use shimmer to highlight them and just make them twinkle. So first what I'm going to do is I'm going to use the lightest color in our palette which is like a shimmery champagne vanilla color, it's really beautiful and I'm going to sweep that all over Marie's entire lid, starting right from the base of the eyelashes all the way up to right under her brow. That's going to illuminate her eyes and also illuminate out the skin. Sometimes people will have a little bit of discoloration on their lid, also the skin is so thin there that sometimes we get little veins that show through so when you give your eye a nice base color like this it really evens everything out. So now secondly, I'm going to use the medium tone which is more of a darker gold and I'm going to put that just all over her eyes but not all the way up to the brow bone. I don't want to cover what I already did with the lighter shade. And now I'm going to take this color which is almost like a taupe gray gold, it's really pretty and I'm going to tap off the excess and I'm going to just place that into the contour of her eye and that's going to create shape and really bring out the natural shape of Marie's eye and that's what you want to do to make an impact with your eye makeup is really highlight and contour and really show off the shape of your eye and then I'm just going to take a little bit of a smaller brush, just for a more smoky effect I'm going to take the absolute darkest color in the palette which I'm also going to use as a liner but right now I'm just going to put a tiny bit in a little tiny V just right on the outer corners. So that's going to just add a little bit more smokiness and definition. And then to define the eyes even more we're going to go ahead and take the darkest color and just look up for me, we're going to wiggle the brush all along the lower lash line right into the lashes. And you don't want to bring the liner too far down it's really mean to just get in there and create a line a little bit darker than your natural lashes will do. I'm going to take that same dark color and I'm just going to go on the upper lash line. I'm going to lift the brow a little bit just like that. So now I'm going to lift the brow and I'm going to just wiggle the brush in little swift small strokes and get the dark shadow as close as possible to the lash line. And you don't want any separation in the liner between the liner and the lashes. You don't want to see any skin showing through. When you wear liner it really helps to intensify the eyes because it makes your lashes look thicker. So then the last thing I'm going to do to finish this eye and really add a twinkle and sparkle is I'm going to take the really shimmery gold shadow here and tap off the extra and just look up, I'm going to go and just put that right into the tear ducts, just a little dot right there so that's going to draw light and attention to that area and brighten it up and just add sparkle to your eyes. So there you have it, that's the quickest and easiest way to define your eyes and give them impact with eye shadow. Thanks for watching. I'm Hilda Levierge.
